« Great location for a short stay on Australia's Gold Coast »

Regularly stay at the Novotel Gold Coast due to its proximity to the heart of the Gold Coast, the beach and attractions / for business. The rooms are great for a short stay and the stay always friendly and attentive. Not sure if this is a new thing...but as an Accor Platinum member, I was offered breakfast in the Lobby Bar which was excellent. Much quieter / more relaxed than the buffet offered in Hanlans Restaurant and, most importantly, the food was excellent! Staff member Yasmin attended to us on each of the three mornings and here service was excellent (she made great coffeee too!). Dinners were taken from the menu selection (2 / 3 course options in favour of the buffet) at Hanlans and again, meal quality and staff were excellent. A only minor issue was that we did not receive our complimentary wine / beverage with our meals which was offered for patrons who made a booking through the front desk ...on either of the final two nights we stayed. The hotel can get busy with tour groups and conferences etc but nothing too problematic. Will certainly return.

I loved it. It was great. The only thing was a bit of a communication error because they said we had room service breakfast and we were waiting for it but when we checked reception said we had buffet breakfast instead. But lovely service, amazing event. Just needed some fans in that function room because it was very hot.

We hope you come back to visit us again in the near future! Sincerely, he property is the stunning Waldorf Astoria Shanghai on the Bund. The role is Commercial Director in charge of Sales and Marketing, but also has influence on Revenue Management. The position reports directly to the GM and oversees all Sales, Events, Reservations, Marketing, PR, Communications and Administration. The hotel is the pinnacle luxury flagship hotel for Hilton in China. 260 rooms and suites overlooking the river, with the jewel in the crown the Noble Suite a grand 210 sqm palatial villa complete with its own butler quarters. Six F&B outlets, IRD and superb natural light filled BQT space throughout. The hotel also features an award winning SPA located on Level 3. The heritage listed building is split into two towers and is in an iconic location on The Bund. The Waldorf Astoria Shanghai on The Bund is a FORBES Five Star property and also a member of Virtuoso. The GM is a great guy in Richard Saul, in fact a veteran hotelier with experiences from around the world including Hong Kong, Bangkok, Jakarta and Shanghai. Over 20 years with Marriott International, with his last position was Managing Director of both JW Marriott and The Ritz Carlton Beijing. This position manages 27 colleagues. Was a great place to stay central to many places and good views although no sea view I had city and part country but I wasn’t there for a great holiday and view. Possibly a better signage for direction to the breakfast area would be nice as I helped some Chinese who looked unsure where to go when leaving the lifts, a minor thing but I could see the where do I go look. When I checked out I was asked if I had anything from the mini bar and only realised later that there is no mini bar the fridge is empty except for the little milk portion things.? Hope I’m not charged for a full bar that wasn’t restocked.

I have stayed with my partner in the Novotel Surfers Paradise a number of times in the past 12 months as a member of AccorPlus. Once again the customer service and quality of the stay was excellent. The chocolates and Valentines balloon in room was fantastic. The Accorplus members drink in the lobby bar were fantastic - well done to management for making the extra effort. It is noticeable and very much appreciated.

My experience at the Novotel Surfers Paradise seemed to have a lot of problems. Right from the start when we got there. My carers room was not actually made up. the beds were not made, wet towels on the floor. It was not next door or very close as we were told but was further down the corridor. In my room the king bed was not divided into the two singles. We had to wait for quite a while for this to be done so we could start relaxing for the night. Also we noticed the fridge seal wasn't working and did not shut properly. I was worried things would go bad but we shut it and turned it up to very cold in the hope that it would work. The air-conditioning in my carers room Did not get cold it was very hot. They kept coming into my room to cool down.

« Decent budget experience in an ageing building »

Satisfied would be the right word. It's clear effort has been made to improve the room look and feel however the ageing nature of the building is obvious. The aircon struggled, the fridge was noisy and the facilities are getting on in age. I didn't pay a lot to stay here and it was still an enjoyable stay, just obvious there is still a ways to go.

Really disappointed.. room was fine although air con barely worked. My travel preference with Accorr are far from the lift.. room assigned literally backed onto the lift. “Roof top bar” as advertised has been shut due to poor business. Lobby bar closed as soon as we arrived for about welcome drink... at 8pm..on Saturday night.... restaurant really unappealing vibe and almost empty... big line for breakfast in a most uninviting room.. hotel seems to have dumbed down there product to suit overseas package tour groups.. as before disappointed.... had been in Novotel Bangkok week before ... totally different experience

It was not really up to par with other Novatel locations I have stayed at. It did not meet my expectations that were set by my past experiences at other Novatel Hotels. The facilities were quite run down and untidy. From my observation of the chaos at breakfast, staff do not have the cultural awareness to deal with Chinese patrons, especially large groups properly so it was a bit of a shambles and caused long delays.
