When I first arrived on the morning of 17 June, I was disappointed because I went to check in at Le Club Accor counter on level 1 and was ignored for almost 10 minutes and shuttled between counter staff before finally being told I had to wait another 30 to 45 minutes for my room. I asked if there was somewhere I could get a coffee and sit down, having just gotten off a red eye flight. I was told the bar was open but I would have to pay for my coffee. Finally after check in, my companion and I went on our own to our room without any assistance being offered us for our 2 large luggages nor being escorted to the room as I was made to understand would be the procedure based on an email sent to me by Aless. Thank goodness my room 718 was beautiful and when I went to the executive lounge in the late morning, I experienced the warmest welcome and great service from Alicia and Miya. Their great attitudes made up for the terrible experience we had in the morning. Subsequently I am glad to say your executive lounge staff Alicia, Miya and Anna performed stellarly in the service area. Alicia was really helpful in providing directions to the places I needed to go and even arranged for a birthday cake for my companion on 24 June even though the system did not reflect it. Miya helped me call the bank to check opening hours on her own initiative when I needed to go to the bank on the 18 June. Anna helped me to extend my room check out time when she found out my companion was suffering a mild case of heat stroke on our last day. I was also pleasantly surprised when Anna walked us to our car headed to the airport together with her director, and Jackson also came to say goodbye. This is by far the best service we have received in Shanghai so far. I hope that I can have a similar good experience when I come back in a few months. Some points to feedback though, your hotel seemed to have quite a few issues with electronics. Firstly, the wifi in the room was erratic. Secondly, there were a few occasions when the shower suddenly turned cold for a second. Thirdly, one of the mornings at breakfast when they scanned my card, the wrong room number came up and the manager curtly told me I was only entitled to one person for breakfast. Lastly there was one day when the lock on my room malfunctioned and I had to wait at the lounge until it was fixed. I must commend the young fellow that helped me deal with this as he patiently escorted us to the room and tested the lock, when his card didn’t work, he escorted us to the lounge and came back for us when the lock was reset. I didn’t get his name but he showed good thinking on his feet and gave us great service.

Lovely room - its always nice to find a comfy bed . Staff were excellent, friendly, courteous, efficient and quick to ensure that any of our requests were satisfied completely. A shuttle bus service to the nearest Metro station would be idea.

« Wonderful and enjoyable stay in the airport area »

The check in experiences was nice l, friendly and effcient, which left me a very good feeling of the stay. Room was new, nice, classic, food and beverage service is good. The location is close to hongqiao airport around 10 Min max by car. There is a big shopping center next by the hotel owner. The lounge service is good. Swimming pool and gym is beautiful and luckly not so many people.

I truly enjoyed the stay again. The check in, room condition and service, breakfast are excellent. If there’s anything need to be improved, it should be WiFi connection. It was not stable throughout my 2 day stay.

Well decorated hotel lobby with French style design, The Kwee Zeen restaurant was large and spacious serving wide varieties of food, We felt relaxed and enjoyed our welcome drinks at Lebar Lounge, nice handout. We also like to thanks the staff at the Club Millesime for serving us for a couple of days during our stay there. I would like to commend Ms Anna at the Club Millesime for her excellent service, attentiveness and helpful, when she knows that we are from Singapore she feels happy seeing old friends, chatting and recommended us some attractions in Shanghai. While I'm waiting at the Club Millesime waiting for 2 other friends to meet us, she even guide them up from the hotel lobby. The room was large and spacious and well decorated design. Although the hotel location is near airport and train stations, some taxi driver refused to fetch guests to the hotel, suggest to have a regular shuttle service from the airport and train station.

some of the other services may need to improve. One is your 8 Lounge and Le Bar. I remembered that I arrived at your hotel at 12:15 am and finished all check in at 12:25 am. I used my free coupon at 8 Lounge and Le Bar at 12:45am. I saw 8 lounge had TV so went to but No staff to serve and went to Le Bar. Only bartender stayed at Le Bar. I wanted to order some food to eat, he said that kitchen was closed, no food was provided. I disappointed that front desk talked to me Le Bar had foods to eat but they talked to me " Kitchen closed"??? Why was the kitchen closed one hour more before the bar closed? The other thing at Le Bar was the definition of "Local Beer". I want to order "Snow" but your bartender said the free coupon just allow to order "Local Beer" , "Local Beer" means only for "Tsingtao". What's the different between "Snow " and "Tsingtao"? 2 June, I went to your restaurant to want to have buffet. I ordered BBQ steak at 8:15pm, your chief said that the steak had not yet been thaw and later to order. I re-ordered at 8:45pm.. Your chief said, "oh! sorry, today no steak was provided" . I want to enquire why your restaurant staff talked to guests there had many food could eat but they would give many excuse to not to provide some foods.

Beautiful reception & grounds, great size rooms, cleaning standard needs to improve please, unclean stained carpet with visible dirt particles, wasn't vacuum when requested, very unpleasent smelling mattress/mattress topper in one room, odd stains on toilet walls, dirt around shower & toilet door in same room mentioned above - please, clean the rooms properly and you'll have a near perfect hotel. I recommend getting rid of the carpets in the rooms and replace with vinyl/wood floors.

The very first Sofitel I stayed is in Manila, that gave me a very good experience but however in Shanghai, it is just normal like any other hotel. There is no personal welcome or greeting considering I am a Gold Member of Accor Group. There is no food platters or welcome letter in the room. The front desk or any individual in the restaurant unable to converse in English. Due to communication, there is no proper introduction of hotel and its facilities to me.

It was a nice and new hotel. The bed linen is super comfortable that made me sleep very well. The reception was very helpful and thoughtful cause it was before 7am when I checked in and she kindly suggest to change my breakfast coupon for the next two days so that I could enjoyed the breakfast right away since it was too early and nothing was opened at the hour. The only fall back of the hotel is it location is not in a convenient area and not close to subway station and the mall next to the hotel is the only place within walking distance.
