« GREAT HOTEL SOME MINOR ATTENTION TO DETAIL NEEDED »

Very nice room and people were very nice and helpful. I really liked this hotel. BUT, room was not ready at 3pm check-in time. Only a few minutes late but this is very irritating - how could you not have the room ready at 3pm AND the TV lost signal several times while watching BBC in the early evening - again very irritating AND hallways need additional cleaning, lift doors dusty, floors at edges etc

It was a pleasure to be back to experience the high level of service and amenities. However, the hotel can use several updates (improved internet connectivity, international English channels beside only BBC, more conveniently located electric outlets, at the desk and next to the bed)

Pleasant Lovely hotel in a great location Free parking! A premium in Le France Staff polite and assisted in every way Restaurant was tad pricey for our needs So passed on that Walked the town area and chomped on world wide Le Big Mac Only negative I can star was the small TV in such a lovely nice room You go to all that effort and decor with tiny small touches Then a squat if piddly TV Come on be big Be proud and loud Well done thou on all other aspects

« Simple to say but true - exceeded expectations! »

Stopover point on the way back to the UK & have stayed here before. This time found that this hotel had upped its game in literally all areas. In particular, I was particularly impressed by the receptionist on arrival & everyone either at the bar or serving breakfast the following morning. All were of a calibre I rarely come across these days.

The plus: Service was excellent at the reception, breakfast and restaurant. Nice room size. The breakfast was very good. The brasserie restaurant was great. The minus: The furniture in the room is getting old. No temperature setting for the AC in the room. Bathtub angle awkward. Toilet door did not close (was touching at the top) Good hotel overall. But hard to justify the price difference with Novotel close by (also Accord Hotels)

Lovely hotel but inattentive staff (had to wait 10 minutes to check-in, whilst staff were distracted on the computer, but certainly not their guests) and very rude and arrogant barman, who's only contribution was to say "COMPLETE", when we asked about a table in the bistro. No suggestion that we might dine in the A La Carte restaurant or there might be a table in the Bistro, later in the evening. So, if you like inattentive and rude staff, stay here! The receptionist did try to "calm stormy waters" with the barman's attitude, but his behavior had destroyed our wish to dine at the hotel.

We had a spacious and airy room. We enjoyed an excellent meal in the Brasserie. The only downside was difficulty in accessing the hotel from the town. We drove around for quite along time before asking passers by for help.

« Good but... »

It is always nice to stay at La Citadelle, but remind your staff we are not friends. They are trained to be polite, but should not over do it. An example: When I arrive to check in, late, after hours travelling, I do not care to chit chat with an unknown gentleman who is asking me all about my trip and vacation and work, etc. They should know better when to leave us alone and when to interact. SO ANNNOYING !
