Nice night away without our children

We booked a stay through Accor Plus which gave us lounge access at a reasonable price. The food and wine provided in the lounge was very good.

The room was very nice and snacks great! Staff very friendly. My only quibble is that they accidentally put us in the wrong room to start with, which freaked me out.

As a seasoned traveller wth business and family I cannot express my utter disappointment with this hotel.We have travelled extensively across New Zealand with our 11 year old with no issues until this stay. We were staying before a flight home to the UK and planned to meet friends in the roof top bar at about 6pm for champagne before dinner at the restaurant below. We were greeted with children are not allowed in the bar due to the General managers policy. And no other bar was open so why does this hotel take bookings with children if they are not welcome ! We would of spent a lot of money so not economic for the hotel. We are also always looking for hotels for an International sports teams which occupy 40 rooms at a time so this one will definately be off the list. Even the staff I spoke to didnt agree with the policy of the General Manager , so obviously they do not like children. Thankfully I was not on my own or I would had to sit in my room all night after supper.
