« ONLY ONE THING THAT BOTHERS »

This is a very nice hotel.There is only one thing to complain about.When we arrived there was a note that mentioned that we can help ourselves to the snacks and drinks in the bar fridge.For the 8 days we stayed there there were no snacks and every day when we arrived at our room late afternoon we had to ask reception to send someone to refill our fridge with drinks.

« Very nice hotel with very polite employee »

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights. We experienced a very warm hospitality. We were welcomed with a very polite guess relation on the reception. As a loyal member, they give us also the welcome drinks, amenities, and i believe the room was also upgraded. Location wise, the hotel is 7 minutes walk from Interlaken Ost station. This helped us to achieve our objective to go back and forth to the mountain quickly on daily basis. Another good point that i note was on the breakfast. The restaurant crew was very polite and took very good care of us. Also, the hotel served rice for breakfast. The only hotel that served rice during our Europe tour. Food quality was awesome, fresh meat and organic fruits were available. The room was very big and fancy. We really loved the hotel. However, the kingsize bed was basically merging 2 twin beds so that gave us a bit hiccup. Overall, i would recommend myself to come back and stay at the same hotel if i visit Interlaken again.

« Superb nice warmth personal and very comfy room »

When we were just arrived, the front desk staff (receptionist) welcome us with smile and they were very friendly and helpful to answer our questions. The breakfast staff were also very friendly. This Hotel has sauna room and whirpools, which is big enough for many guest. The room is big and the bed is comfy.. bathroom and the equipment was also NICE. Thanks

« Comfortable Room, good breakfast! »

My husband and I stayed for 2 nights 3 days. Our room was very spacious and comfortable. Even the bathroom spacious. They accommodated our request for a room with a bath tub. I find that the breakfast selection was wide (I love the selection of tea leaves) and delicious. The staff was very courteous too.

« Could not have been better »

Warm welcome on arrival and friendly staff. Beautiful and comfortable room with all the little extras provided. Great food in the restaurant and very helpful and friendly waiting staff, both at breakfast and dinner. Brilliant location only 7 minutes walk from the train station and near to shops and cafes. Overall a lovely stay and would recommend.

« Nice location, spacious rooms, old appliances, not-so-nice service »

We stayed in the hotel for two nights. The location was perfect. The view from the room was amazing. We loved the breakfast buffet. However, the appliances in the room were old. Even after running the heater for hours the room was cold. When we contacted the front desk, they suggested moving the drapes. We tried that for another hour and the result was pretty much the same. Finally, they gave us a portable heater. Though it was better than the previous state, we were still uncomfortable because of the cold for the two nights. Also, during the booking it was mentioned that the hotel provides train station transfers. We got picked up from the train station on arrival. But when we checked out, the lady at the reception said that she doesn’t have anyone till 3 pm. She said that she can call a taxi but we will have to pay for it. What seemed odd with this was the fact that the person who picked us from the train station was present there and the vehicle was parked outside. I understand, there may be an issue with scheduling. But I found this behavior rude and unprofessional.

All staff ok ..special mention for Marie Claire and Igor..real asset to your company.However , your. night manager Dominic is absolutely hopeless.He doesn’t have any interest in helping the hotel guest ..he was constantly on the internet surfing , to the point of almost being rude.We tried to order a taxi through him.. and he said he would ring us once he has done it..11/2 hours later , still no news.There was a couple of calls from my room about the taxi , all initiated by me to find out about our taxi to the restaurant.In the end , we had to cancel my restaurant reservation because our hotel could not organise a taxi !!!!I had to call the restaurant 10 minutes before my reservation to apologize !!! I think your hotel neeeds a new night manager/front desk person.. Dominic is not doing Sofitel a favor .He shouldn’t be there..it’s a shame

Night manager Dominic is really indifferent to guest requests and enquiries whereas the day manager like Marie Claire was extremely helpful and obliging. Dominic spends his time staring at the computer screen, I believe surfing the net. Hopeless at organising a taxi for us, finally gave up and organised my own transfers, this happened at least twice. Igor the driver/concierge was exceptional, he bent over backwards to make our stay enjoyable, he's a keeper.

I had a nice room with a view of the mountains - conveniently locatated a short walk from the train station. Great breakfast with a glass of Prosecco. Only trouble was room was a bit cool at night but there was a portable radiator

« St Georges Royal a good basis for the region »

Very nice old property(grand hotel style). The rooms have been refurbished, restaurant, bar and breakfast area offee excellent ambiente and service. In general this hotel is an optimum basis within Interlaken or to be considered as a ski hotel for the nearby Jungfraujoch.

« Simply enchanting, I felt like a princess. »

I arrived in the evening to see snow for the first time, after a short walk from Interlaken Ost I was warmly greeted and shown to a large comfortable room. After my journey i went for a walk around the city centre and came back for a late dinner. As most of the guests had already had their dinner I was seated in the Salon, where although alone I had a magical dinner. In the morning I opened the curtain to my fairytale like balcony and saw the alps for the first time! It was a truely spectacular sight. My whole stay at the Royal St Georges made this Christmas one I shall remember forever. I hope I shall return someday. Thank you and a Merry Christmas to you and your staff. Sincerely Maria

« Nice convenient hotel »

We stayed 5 nights at the hotel - which served as a a great base for activities and travel around the region. Rooms are traditional in design but clean and cosy with comfortable beds. However, floorboards creak and we could hear folks upstairs as they moved around. Location is very convenient - 8 - 10 minutes direct walk from Interlaken Ost station, and short walk to nearby Höhenmatte where the kids had fun ice-skating at Ice Magic and where our paragliding flights landed. Shops and food options are an easy stroll away. Breakfast spread was reasonable with a good selection of fruits. Nice touches - complimentary pick up and drop off during check in and check out, free flow of fruit tea in the lobby.
