Bad: Poor sleep due to intermittent unreliabel air conditioning

I work for GE and have stayed at Pullman for two other visits. This stay was not good. It was much worse than previous stays. The central air-conditioning Pullman Beijing South is clearly broken. Yet the staff did not have the first idea of how to get it fixed, or find a room that was working. I did not have one good night's sleep because the room temperature did not stay cool. I slept better in my coach seat on the airplane than I did in your hotel. Details: Sometimes my room 1227 kept the temperature to the thermostat setting, and then it was comfortable. But then it stopped cooling for many hours and the room would heat up. Then it would cool again, then stop again for many hours. The cycle repeated at random times of the day and night. I complained each evening when cooling stopped. One night the front desk staff offered 4 alternate rooms, but all four rooms were hotter than mine. Air conditioning was NOT COOLING in any those alternate rooms!! Therefore I remained in 1227 for 4 nights, and each night awoke hot and sweating as the room stopped cooling. Finally, on my last day Thursday, I demanded a new room where the cooling is working. While I was at the GE office the hotel staff moved me to room 1209. The manager said they monitored the room all day and told me the temperature was stable. I checked the room at 1800 hours. It was 23 degrees, but the thermostat was set to 16. It was stable, but obviously this room was not cooling either. I gave up!! I stayed in room 1209 with the window open that night. But I was glad to leave on Friday morning. Other: Wifi was very intermittent. It connected and disconnected often. Annoying but I worked through it. Minor inconvenience. Good comments: The breakfast buffet was good. The elevators worked well.

I had happy time in Pullman for 4 nights.

a) Clean room, but the windows were locked via screw. Therefore not possible to have clean air inside the room b) Restaurant, excellent choice of local and western cooking for Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner, at fair prices with excellent service. c) Reception desk: almost friendly, briefly speaking very basic English.. and NOT willing to assist you on checking into the airline company (it was in chinese!!). I specifically requested to assist me on checking into the Airline company and they refused. d) Gym: A lot of treadmills and other equipment. However, room never cleaned for the 2 weeks I was there. Also few systems were destroyed. According to my opinion unacceptable for the price of the hotel. Also the GYM reception desk didn't speak English at all.

The TV channel will auto scan every 30 to 60 mins

The TV cable box has serious issue. When watching channel 900 or above. The cable box will auto scan from time to time. Every 30 to 60 mins. It is very annoying. I had feedback to hotel a few times in the previous stay. But there is no improvement. This is an old issue that I have found when I first stay in Pullman Beijing South.

Stay 17-25 May 2019; Negative: 23 May no coffee machines (2x) working at breakfast. No little spoons available for coffee at the machines. No proper towel direct available for swimming pool. Hand towel suggested for alternative :(. After consulting reception, 10 min later proper towel handed over. Ready for swim. Positive: Good tempature swimming pool. Often ready for a good swim. Finally some douche gel and shampoo available. Well done. Friendly personnel/staff.

Terrible experience, worst customer service I have ever experienced anywhere in the world. The staff not only was unhelpful but rude and disrespectful, and barely spoke English - I have no intentions of coming back despite being a frequent business traveller and will advise all my colleagues to ever stay at Pullman Beijing South

the breakfast is really good to start the day. the room was very cold at first (17 degree) and I was told it couldn't change due to stop of heat. then I got bad cold. But I found my peer complained the room was too warm... I changed a room in higher level and the room was much warmer (25 degree).... the swim pool is very small but I tried once. After swimming my skin was greatly allergic.

I had a good overall experience, but for a small point which I would like to express. I requested for late check out, which I am elegible for being an Accor member. I was told its only for Gold members, but they will allow it anyway as rooms are vacant. I feel the staff should be better informed about the members policy and now allow my request as a special favour to me.

The Concierge and Lounge staff were great! Friendly and helpful. However the air conditioning was not working in any of the rooms. Nothing was mentioned on the website about this - and we were told that it was because the hotel didn't run it certain times of year. Would of been nice to know in advance. When we booked we were told it was an online payment and thought that it had gone through, but found out on the day before our departure that it was still to come off the card. Also we were told that there was no credit on our room account so we had to clear our bill before we could make any more charges to our room. Having stayed with Accor for many years, and being a member for some time, it was disappointing as it was under the Pullman name.

Run down hotel, not up to Pullman standards

Air Conditioning system is sub-par. Although there is temperature control inside the room, it had no effect in changing room temperatures. Room temperature read 28-30 degrees with no way of lowering. Heard the front desk apologizing to other guests about the same issue. The water piping is also clogged in the bathroom. When showering, the water level rises to the ankles. My co-worker experienced the same scenario in his room as well.
