« Ok hotel near Wembley stadium »

third stay at Ibis Wembley, staying there cause it is so close to Wembley Stadium watching Spurs play. Its an Ok hotel and it is also short 15 min walk to Wembley park underground, the sub and bus connections are good to central London. The rooms are ok for sleeping, decent restaurant. The Breakfast deal is average and a bit expensive. We stayed for 4 nights and was not happy that the coffee/ tea was not repalced at the room every day. In fact the coffee cups were not changed and stood there dirty for 4 days, they should have been cleaned . its a 6 out of 10 from me.

The room was cold, and I woke up with a head cold on all 3 mornings of my stay. The key card also kept playing up so I was up and down the lifts trying to get it reset, more than I should have been. It wasn’t a great Ibis experience and the manager didn’t contact me as requested which was deeply disappointing. Other than that the room was clean and the shower was good. The bathroom toilet handle was marked though...looked really dodgy/unclean.

The first room we were allocated was way below our expectations, the carpet had stains on it, there was mould around the window frames. The walls were very heavily scuffed. Overall the room was very dated. As this is a budget hotel we didn’t expect it to be luxurious but saying that the room just was not up to standard. However, we did mention this to the girl that checked us in and she did change us to a different room which was of a much better standard, the carpet was clean and looked more modern. After a short while we discovered the flush in the toilet was not working. I really do hate complaining, especially after the girl was really helpful and moved us from our initial room, but we couldn’t use the toilet so I had no choice but to mention it to the reception. We were advised that the mentainence man had already left for the evening and the hotel was fully booked. Which I expected as it was match night. The only solution was for us to use the public toilet located at reception. This was not a major problem but not ideal, considering we were 10 floors up, travelling with our young daughter, who would not go downstairs alone. Plus my husband is diabetic and would use the toilet more often due to his illness. All that aside the staff were very friendly and the location was excellent for Wembley stadium.

Hi we stayed on Friday and Saturday on the Friday night one of your members of staff told us we weren’t allowed to stay in the reception bar. Staying at the Ibis Wembley was a satisfactory experience and quite a good hotel. I don't like being met by a person carrying an iPad and saying just a minute and I will check you in. I find the experience very impersonal and nowhere near as good as a proper reception desk.

Location - easy to find. Staff - pleasant and accommodating. Reception/ dining area - clean and homey. With lifts. Just a tad slow getting to floors. Room- basic. spacious compared to most basic hotels we’ve been to. clean. Bed - very comfortable. we had a good night sleep. thank you very much. Toilet/Shower - somehow reminded us of being in an airplane. White and compact. Shower’s got good water pressure. We love the idea of the soap that was in a hanging container. Economical. Window- can open it at a certain degree which was nice if you like fresh air especially in the morning. There were 2 extra pillows and a hair dryer. Price - 50£/night. For the space and the comfy bed, we’d say its justifiable. Although ive noticed that there wasnt a price difference from the day i booked (which was months ago) and if you walk-in. It’s not a bad thing i guess especially for people on tight budget, i was just under the impression that a customer gets better rate when they book early and if they were an accorhotels member. Parking space - not a lot. about 5 behind the building. 2-3 cars can squeeze in the front. Parking fee - 12£/day or until 12pm the next day (and 30£ for event days! amusing and nauseating at the same time. people who has imposed that will go to hell for taking advantage of their fellow human beings! just put up a no parking sign! lol). Quite a lot considering the condition of the parking spaces. It will be argued that its london rate..but how do parking people come up with this rate anyway? what is the 12£ for? i think thats the only let down. All in all, id say it was comfy. we had a good sleep, it wasnt noisy or at least we didnt hear any noise. it was a very pleasant stay.

However depending on the situation last minute deals can be offered. We specifically don't advertise parking anywhere, as our spots are technically reserved for contractors, deliveries, guests with disabilities and staff. Stayed at ibis as I am a silver member and love the product at the prices. Have stayed at the Wembley ibis before and never any issue. On arrival (early check in of 9am was paid at booking) we noticed the reception had been removed and it was just a case of find a member of staff and check in. (This wasn't very clear to do this) The girl that checked us in said that she would see if there was a room ready, at which point I was concerned as the 9am check in we had paid for was the reason why we had dragged our cases from Heathrow to here after a transatlantic flight. Luckily she said there was one ready so we checked in. At approx 11am when using the sink the plug got stuck closed. We reported this to the house keeping who said she would send maintenance. By 6pm still nothing and no use of the sink. Spoke to reception who said they would make sure it would be put on the maintenance list and he will be working his way to it. On day 2 at about 2pm still nothing. Spoke to reception. Who said would sort. When we got back at about 6pm the staff member had been to the room and said he had put sink unblocker down. I explained that it was the mechinism that was broke not the drainage and he said it was now working and all sorted (looked like housekeeping had sorted it). When we checked out on the second day at approx 11am we got a knock at the door, it was maintenance, the gentleman apologised he was never given the message and if he had been he could have sorted straight away. Everyone was very friendly and said they would sort but there seemed to be a big communication issue here. Special mention to the bar man I think his name began with A (and he was an arsenal fan) he was very welcoming.
