« Very good, with maybe just one exception. »

The stay was great. Room was clean and well kept. Good location and view from the 8th floor over the Japanese Gardens was lovely. Only reason I have not given a 10 is that the mini bar was not replenished on the second day and I was longing for a soft drink late on the second night but everything was closed.

« Pleasant stay with efficient services. »

Friendly reception staff especially Mr Wilson Yap, clean room, comfy bed and properly cleaned bathroom daily. However non availabilty of complimentary daily bottled water was greatly missed especially during the hot spells. Also the coffee machine at breakfast gave guests much frustration as operating it was a complete bewilderment. Suggest to have coffee pots for guests who are all thumbs with coffee machines.

« A Right Decision To Come Back To The Novotel Sydney Darling Square! »

We used to stay and run our events at the Novotel Rockford as it was called prior to the renovations - however the noise disruption meant we had to find somewhere more suitable. Unfortunately, our alternative venue nearby didn't provide the standard of care and attention that they should have so we chose to come back to the "new" Novotel Darling Square ... and we weren't disappointed! We have just finished running our first "post renovation" two-day event here ... and it was brilliant! All the staff, from the front desk, through the restaurant and the coffee shop in the foyer, through the conference and events department and including the "housekeeping fairies" who quietly just come in and make things perfect again when we're not there ... were outstanding! Chris, who looked after our two day event deserves special mention for going above and beyond! Nothing was too much trouble and he anticipated our every need and want, so much so that not only did we notice, but our attendees noticed how attentive and helpful he was without being obtrusive. So, thank you Chris! The function room was fantastic - light, bright, and with an interactive electronic screen you can "draw" on ... and the perfect temperature! So many venues often don't seem to be able to get the temperature of the room right! The food was perfect and plentiful ... the profiteroles were a favourite with our attendees! So, thank you to everybody at the Novotel Sydney Darling Square ... we throughly enjoyed our stay and our event ran like clockwork so we will definitely be back!

Room was fine. I ordered a steak sandwich and wedges that were meant to come with bacon. They didn't come with bacon - just sour cream and chilli sauce.

We enjoyed the stay. The room was clean and comforable. The staff were excellent, friendly and helpful. We were disappointed that the evening dinner menu was very limited and this caused us to eat away from the restaurant.

« A good stay but had issues with the room ventilation and breakfast experience »

The room I stayed in initially (235) didn't seem to have good ventilation and had a smell of damp. When I came back to the room the second day it was worse and had an earthy smell. I requested to change rooms and the reception and staff were very accomodating which was great. For breakfast, I am tend to go for healthier options and would have like to have seen fruit salad already cut up rather than slices.

Everything was fine except for one incident that concerned me. I saw one of your staff showing a food courier into the guest elevator rather than the service elevator, where he proceeded unaccompanied. Having trained in hospitality myself, I find both of these factors to be inappropriate for a premium establishment.

Outside food can not be handled by anyone at the hotel and must be delivered directly to doors or be picked up by a guest for liability purposes. Only hotel contracted workers/services would be using our service elevators. Public servants (emergency services) or private services (food, massage or make up artist...) would still be using a front of house lift. Note that technically they should be accompanied to the floor and we will investigate on that matter of them being unaccompanied at that particular time.
