« nice hotel, great location but my room was next to a 24/7 parking garage »

The quality of my room and the service was very good, but I was on the 4th floor overlooking the entrance to a parking garage and could hear cars coming in and out of the garage throughout the early morning.

« Awakened on Sunday morning at 8:20 a.m. by loud construction noise »

My husband and I were awakened very early on Sunday morning (after arriving late the night before and hoping to sleep in) by loud banging/construction noises in the room(s) above ours.When I notified the receptionist, I was told that several rooms were undergoing renovation.If I had known that construction work would be taking place on a Sunday at such an EARLY hour, we would have likely stayed elsewhere. And no apology was offered, nor any real compensation.VERY POOR customer service.

« We love staying at the Sofitel however this time we had a slight problem. See below. »

Other than what happened late Saturday night/early Sunday morning we enjoy staying at the Sofitel. Everything is always clean, everyone is friendly and it is in walking distance to so many stores, restaurants, etc. This time we were kept up by a barking dog (I'd say until 2:30 3:00 a.m.) and a lot of screaming and yelling on the street. It sounded like a large group of people coming out of a bar who were cheering and talking very loudly. The dog sounded like it was in the room next to us or very close. We were on the 4th floor so I'm not sure if that has anything to do with both. Usually we are on a higher floor.

Enjoy the hotel, concierge was extremely helpful and location is great. If I were to recommend anything, it would be to have a cover sheet in the bed to allow different comfort levels. The blanket was too warm even though we turned the temp down to 66.

The rooms are very old and dated. There are plenty of hotels in Center City with updated rooms at the same price point. I will not stay at Sofitel again until rooms have been renovated.

« It was a nice stay with no exceptions. »

It was very nice; however, the bed was too soft (concave) and there was drilling going on outside on Wednesday evening January 9, 2019 until midnight which generated a lot of noise. I understand that this has nothing to do with your hotel, but if there is going to be drilling and noise, perhaps you can schedule guests to stay in rooms on the other side of the hotel (away from the drilling) if there is availability. Lastly, when entering your hotel from the street, there are two steps, but there is no ramp. It was difficult to get my heavy wheeled bag up the steps. If there was a ramp, it would have been a breeze since my luggage has wheels.

Additionally, we recognize that some of our guests prefer a firmer mattress and we are happy to remove the additional feather pillow topper (which gives the mattress the extra softness.) Thank you for sending this survey. I really love Sofitel. My first experience with Sofitel was in Paris, and I remember it being amazing. When I checked in to the Philadelphia location, the staff was very kind. I requested a late checkout due to an afternoon appointment, and it was easily done. My room was situated at the end of the hall, which I appreciated. Room service was timely, and the food was pretty good. The issue with the room was the plumbing. The shower drained so slowly that I was standing in a pool of water, which was uncomfortable. The next day, I opted to use the shower nozzle attached to the tub, but that had such a leak at the base that water began spraying all over the bathroom from both ends of the nozzle. I gave up on that idea, and went back into the shower, as it was the better option.

« Fabulous until I found evidence of bedbugs the next morning »

Customer service, the hotel, the bar, the room was all amazing. I was disturbed by the evidence of bed bugs the next day. My friend didn't want to make a big deal of it buy I'm still freaking out about it. I used to own a pest control company and I know what to look for. Everything else was fabulous.
