Excellent location, breakfast requires variety - I stayed for a month and it was the same stuff everyday. Hit and miss with the service - sometimes they don’t pick up my laundry, several times I had to call to refill my shower gel, constant knocks on the door to either return my laundry, provide drinking water, or offer turn down service - up to 3 knocks per evening. For the price I paid per night I expect a little more.

Our entire stay at the Fairmont was perfect, from the kind and professional staff, the comfortable rooms with its amazing view on the bay to the great location of the hotel in Rio! The Tropik restaurant and beach club across the street was also a very nice option for drinks and a casual dinner!!

Everything was perfect from check-in to check-out. Everyone in the staff goes out of their way to make you feel welcomed. It starts even before your check-in with emails they send before you're due to go in. There was this special touch - they delivered a welcome card with 4 brigadeiros to my room.

Overall the staff and facilities were first class. The only area that fell short was the bar service. On two successive nights we had difficulties with the same problems. It took 15 minutes from ordering a drink to receiving it. On both occasions the bill was incorrect with the wrong drinks on it. On the second night they came out with the wrong drinks. Although we had given our room number with the order it was incorrect on the bill. When ordering 2 drinks they came out with them separately? the staff are perfectly nice but I think that the process needs some attention. Regards
