Check in was easy and quick. Looked after us very well. Restaraunt was lovely and buffet in the mornings for breakfast was great too. Pool and spa were old and in need of an upgrade - we stay here alot

Location is perfect as its in the city centre and easy for access to various other locations. However the room is tired and old. Quality of bed, bathroom, carpet, facilities in hotel are old and tired. Price of room not reflective to quality

My wife and I recently stayed at the Novotel on Collins. Whilst the hotel has a great location being in the centre of the city, the room we were given was a little tired and in dire need of maintenance checks. It was disappointing that neither of the bedside lamps worked. Furthermore, there was mould in the shower recess and the floor tiles had clearly not been mopped. Overall, a disappointing experience.

I didn’t stay. I had a credit from December when I had to cut a trip short due to my mother taking a serious health turn. I tried to use the credit towards a visit to Melbourne February 5 - 9, but could not get those dates available - ended up staying at Pullman on Fitzroy Gardens. So I did not stay and was informed credit has now expired.

Only hiccup not advised when I booked direct and checked in that the $1 breakfast had to be taken at Restaurant. Large oversight. I ordered breakfast to my room and the toast no colour of toasting but warm. Pedantic you may say.

Furnishings were dated. I had problems with the AC and drain in the shower. It was not fixed after reporting it. After a second night I was moved to another room. The staff handled the move very well.

The Novotel is a well located 4 star hotel minus the trimmings of dressing gowns, slippers, extra toiletries and bell boy service available in a 5 star hotel. Good sized room, comfortable bed and shower but lighting not great for reading.

Please accept my sincere apology about the gym/pool area was not up to expectation. Being surrounded and build around a shopping complex the cool air dissipates into the open area, however, the plan could be to close the area in with glass to keep it cooler in summer and warmer in winter. Management is working on improvements and those will need building approval. We already welcomed you back on Friday and it was great to see you all again. On this occassion I did not enjoy my stay at Novotel. 1st/Main reason was my breakfast order was missed. I put the order out at about 10pm the night of my stay. In the morning I waited 20 minutes past the time of the 'delivery window' before calling to follow up and was told that my order had not been received. As a solution I was told to go to the buffet which unfortunately wasn't suitable- I had delayed getting ready/ having a shower (as I didn't want to be in the shower when breakfast was deilvered) so by the time I found out it wasn't coming- I was running late. 2nd thing the drain in my shower was completely broken and was sticking up, out of the floor. As the drain is directly under the shower head it was an awkward and uncomfortable shower. On a positive, the guys that greet you downstairs and take your car were all very professional and friendly. Both when I first arrived and left. They had my car back at the time I had asked and had my bags out and ready for collection. They were very kind and made it seem like nothing was too much effort. Thanks to them.

Comfortable, quiet room. Very pleasant staff at reception: everywhere. Excellent location in the city. Improvements: Room has only one chair- one extra needed. Bathroom: shower recess glass needs a "pattern" to warn guest of its placement. Also, a handrail would be helpful for elderly guests.

« Not as plush as it used to be »

I’m not sure if it was because of the lighter weight doona and only two pillows on the king size bed that the room didn’t feel as luxurious as when I have stayed previously. The bedhead was beautiful though and the staff as lovely as ever.
