Rooms are small but has all the necessary items you need. Breakfast was good. Some items could be better, fresh orange juice is great but the setup makes that yo spill a lot. Putting a can underneath instead of a small glass would improve the situation a lot. Bread is great and you can make fresh waffles yourself. The staff was very helpful and friendly.

Staff & service good. all other items fine except: Room had unpleasant background odour Bathrooms, too small to be comfortable to use Windows kept closed, but pestered & bitten by mosquitos at night

The staff were all lovely and kind. The location of the hotel is great. The cost of the hotel is quite a bit for what you get as The rooms are very dated and small, and the beds are quite uncomfortable. However, everything was clean.

We really enjoyed our stay at Ibis Opera in Gent. The rooms were a bit outdated but clean and functional. Just what we needed during a 2-day citytrip. I would recommend this hotel for a short-stay. Breakfast was good, fresh and enough healthy choice. We would also recommend this hotel if you want to park your car safe.

Broke my suitcase during storage and

The staff is polite, the rooms are small, but clean. What really bothers me is that during daytime storage of my luggage at the hotel, my suitcase returned to me with a broken handle. I immediately brought it to the attention of staff on duty Jorge, who assured me that someone will handle it. When I complained in writing, Patriek Deruddere, who is a general manager, told me that he is sorry, but the suitcase could have been broken at any point in time and he is not going to issue a refund. Is Patriek that incompetent? Do I not really know when I gave off my suitcase, it was fine and when I received it back the handle was broken? This isn't a definition of customer service, in my opinion. I had to buy another suitcase to continue the trip and spending over $100. In all the fairness, the hotel should reimburse me those charges. And the response I received is far less than satisfactory.

My stay was very pleasant, near the city center and the place where the conference I was attending was held. I just have one little complaint: there was no shower gel in the shower. The bottle was fixed outside above the sink so it was not that easy to get some shower gel while taking a shower.
