I'm a guest since around 8 years and I really like the Hotel in general, nice atmosphere, lovely personnel, good food & service. However, with last years refurbishments in the hotel and the constructions going outside now, the Sofitel experience becomes muted. Especially, when comparing room rates with other Hotels nearby without constructions around. One recommendation: I had trouble finding the new entrance and the new parking lots. Feels like there are not enough signs outside and no flagging of the new situation on the website when booking...

« housekeeping entering/attempting to enter my room at night several times an noone could explain why »

business trips with several weeks staying in sofitel and Novotel in both hotels at night housekeeping would bother me at night knocking at the door and while I was trying to get out of bed and trying to figure who this could be I head door open. They say housekeeping and I dont understand what they wanted so they left. happened at least 4 times during my stay of 3 weeks. My room was cleaned in the morning whileI am at work. but at night noone should enter my room. when I asked reception they told me to put a do not disturb on my door. is it normal that a guest has to put a do not disturb post at his door at NIGHT so that housekeeping would let him rest after a tired day? At my check out a new surprise waited, they wanted to charge me with 90EUR dinner I never had, also they could not show me any receipt with my signature. I had to wait, came late at work.

First of all , we wanted to sincerely apologize for the inconvenience you encountered around 8.30pm. Indeed, We would like to explain to you why the housekeeper wanted to enter your room. In every Sofitel, we have a turndown service as Sofitel Standards, every night which is that our housekeeping service goes into your room to close the curtains, turn on the lights, in order to offer you the best comfortable stay. On the other hand, concerning the restaurant bill posted on your room, the eve of your departure the restaurant did a mistake, end at your check-out we check your bill with you in order to avoid any wrong charges. When you informed the front desk about this occurrence they move out this charge from your bill. Please allow us to express once more our apologies. If you wish during your next stays we could not organize this turndown service for your tranquility. Please do not hesitate to let us know during your next visit. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you again and show you that we have taken the necessary steps to ensure that this inconveniences does not happen again and that your next stay will be better than the last one.
