We stayed here for two nights, the hotel offered a good price as 4 star hotel. At check-in receptionist - Cindy gave us a warm welcome, she was nice and firendly. She upgrade us to privilege room (with free soft drinks in the minibar). Unfortunately as we did not expected - the room was not very well made (unvacuumed, hair, mold next to the window, dust and so on). We gave a feedback at the reception so they instantly change the room, left apology letter with free drink at the bar and one free breakfast. On the other hand, room was very good with nice decorations and the bed was very comfortable we slept like a babies! Later on we met Xadim (just to borrow a lighter) - we noticed that he is the right person in the right place! As we were watching him how he talk with the guests, making jokes and always smiling. You know in the hotel business - every detail metters!

« Comfortable room. »

No real complaints. One burned-out light was promptly replaced. The safe was locked when I arrived in the room (apparently it was left locked by the previous guest); this was not addressed quickly and I had to ask twice to get access to the room safe. Elevators were a bit congested in the morning. Restaurant was convenient, with appropriate fare.

Just outside city center, view on the Amstel river. Check in could be easier, even with the fast check in it takes to long .... I had to ask for my complementary drink myself, as silver Accor member ! Desk staff should at least know who is coming in and look up the customers information

« All as expected but poor information and assistance regarding catering options »

Overall very good, friendly staff but unfortunately I was not informed of the small shop on the ground floor. I asked about eating options for an evening meal and the restaurant menu was all that was offered. This was also not indicated when discussing breakfast options either upon arrival, the only one given was booking the restaurant for another 18- 22 Euro. There was a very limited selection of food for vegetarians on the menu and very expensive at 18-22 Euro. The burger was described as lentil but it was very meaty meat substitute and smelled like it had been cooked on the meat grill. I raised the issue and no alternative or refund was offered so I ended up not eating after a very long day.

Price / Performance ratio is completely out of balance. Breakfast and parking too expensive. Cold water in the shower in the morning was very disappointing. Service at reception was very good. An enthusiastic team with great support.

Hi, I have just got back from a weekend in Amsterdam and stayed at your hotel. I’m not normally a person who complains but I was disgusted with what happened to me and my partner while we were there. And the solution from reception was actually insulting. I didn’t think I would be writing this in an email but here is what happened. We checked in, went to our room and we were having intimate time together. During this, a male member of your staff decided to let themselves into our room and walk straight in. He probably saw quick a bit, I would rather not go into detail of what he saw! Which as you can imagine was very upsetting for my partner. I shouted and told him to go away. After this we obviously stopped and decided to sleep for an hour before complaining and head out to the city center. Again a member of your staff came bursting through the door again, only difference was that we were covered up this time. After complaining to your reception and got told that they would ‘put things right’, we got offered a free drink.......... That in my opinion is insulting. I look forward to your response Ivan n.

« Very nice hotel with good service and a relaxing environment »

Very friendly stuff, nice - well equipped rooms (big plus for the Nespresso machine with original caps)- the check-in area with small desks is unique, very nice the shop with food (even some healthy stuff) and beer. Didn'Ät have the time to check out the sauna- but having one is already great. I can only recommend that place.

« Great people, good room, generally pleasant stay »

Generally, my visit was very good. The people were wonderful and very helpful. Having a coffee maker, iron, and ironing board in my room was a great surprise and very helpful for a business traveler. The wifi was fast and reliable. The TV system was my only complaint- it only worked about 30% of the time (otherwise I would just get a blank screen) and it automatically turned off every hour. I enjoyed my stay and would be happy to come back.

Waiting time elevators NOT acceptable Heating system did not work in the meeting rooms (thanks for the cold I have now!) Stains in the carpets in the hallways and rooms! Food and drinks in the restaurant completely over prized!! Drainage in the bath tub did not work properly. Long waiting time while check in

« Clean but basic rooms, terrible service in bar/restaurant »

I stayed for 4 nights in the hotel. The only really bad experience was dinner at the hotel restaurant. We waited for nearly 2 hours to get our food. Out of 8 guests at our table, 4 were served quickly and the other 4 waited another hour to get any food. Our orders were only hamburgers and pasta, so there was no special preparation required. This was an absolutely awful evening, and we do not want to stay at the Mercure again next year at ISE time.

« The quality of room and service were not satisfactory. »

The room was extremely small. The quality and care of the staff was not effective. They were nice, but it did not help provide a desirable care. Our room was missing towels and toiletries and our extra pillows were removed on the last night of our stay. The overall experience was lacking. We would not stay or recommend Mercure to others.

Nice hotel for price and location but rooms were not clean, we had 3 rooms and all dirty, after second night we would expect the carpet to be clean but no, even bread was on the table.

I am an Accor Hotels Silver Member. I am staying at Accor hotels (preferably at Novotel, and when it is fully booked I am checking other Accor hotels) every week for business purposes. Last week Novotel was fully booked, therefore we booked our stays from Mercure hotel with my colleagues. However, my experience was way below my expectations honestly. Some of the hotel personnel were extremely rude. At some loint i didn't even want to ask any questions to anyone just to avoid the rude behavior of the personnel. Furthermore, i had the old version of the room service menu in my room. I wanted to order an item from that menu, and the personnel said we don't serve it any more since it is the previous menu. I asked then how am i supposed to know what is in the new menu?. And he said you can come downstairs to the restaurant and i can help you. But in this case it is no more room service, is it?... Moreover, every day i didn't receive bread and butter with my dinner even though i asked for it specifically. So every day i had to ask twice to get it. Another complaint about the dinner menu is there is no option for a light decent salad. One day i asked for a ceasare salad because i wanted a fresh and light dinner. However it was full of bacons and anchoise next to the chicken. The other salad option was couscous salad, which is not based on fresh salad leaves at all. Last but not least, one day i hanged the "i don't want cleaning" sign on my door. But in the evening i still didn't have the 5 eur discount voucher in my room. So to get that, i also had to go down to the reception and ask for it specifically. So it felt like i was doing some parts of the personnels' job for them all the time. We are always pretty satisfied with the service we get in Novotel. However, my colleagues' experiences were also pretty much the same with Mercure hotel unfortunatelly. So last week we cancelled all our future bookings with Mercure hotel. I hope my feedback would make some changes within Mercure hotels. Because otherwise you might be loosing more customers in the future...
