« Mostly normal Mercure experience but especially nice management »

Overall a good experience. Improvements could be: That - the shower would have stronger water pressure, - the beds would be a bit softer, - the TV could be used as a second screen for the computer (i.e. standing on the desk instead of being up high). Food is especially good in the restaurant and the staff is very nice.

« Good! But the iron room »

So, i like the staff, the location, the bar, the garden and most of the rooms i occupied. I canceled my bookibgs from the novotel, to stay in the mercure. I did that because, they stopped their service to bring the iron to the rooms, but instead opened an ironing room... now you did the same thing. THIS, to me, is very poor for a four star hotel. I dont know if you can feel the frustration of canceling the booking and then to hear the same thing also at the mercure. I would be very happy if you brought that service back. Ive heared, that the lady that used to run the novotel is now working at the mercure. An iron room is more suited for a ibis hotel. Maybe you tell her that?

« Ok for short-term stay, low quality »

Pros: Well connected, a lot of storage space, quiet, staff always available, OK cleaning service for the most common stuff, comfortable bed, nice view for half the apartments (those facing the garden). Cons: a) The room has carpeting on the floor which means its very dirty from years of use, the air is dusty and unhealthy. b) You can only access the internet through vouchers that last only one week, and most importantly, you get automatically disconnected every 6 hours or so and you must type the same passwords, again and again, every day. b) No attention to detail at all- everything has a stain or is not working properly: my couch had a white liquid stain that never got cleaned, laundry machine door is broken forever, shoe shining machine never has any liquid etc.

« Good rooms and location but not so good WiFi and breakfast options »

I stayed there for 4 days 3 nights for a business visit. The location of the hotel is good, just a couple of minutes walking from the Frankfurt West S-bahn station which connects you anywhere you want. The room was great and clean, most importantly had electricity outlets everywhere you would want to have them. The free WiFi however is REALY slow as compared to what most other hotels offer. Given the WiFi quality I had with cheaper hotels, I expected much better from here. Though breakfast had a broad selection, I also did not find stuff I am used to see at other hotels like Smoked Salmon, honey, non-pork sausage/cuts.

Everybody in our party of four (different rooms) - so it's not only me - woke up several times in the night due to heavy waves of heat. I assume there's no good temperature control in the rooms. Breakfast was top!

« Modern room with lots of space »

I really enjoyed my stay at the Mercure hotel. The room was really modern and comfortable. The only problem I had was the noise in the room from the trains directly in front of the window.

« Short stay in dated hotel »

Stayed for 2 nights and booked this hotel due to its proximity to the Messe Halls. Friendly welcome, nice first impression. This hotel is in 3 different places. The main building where the reception and main restaurant and bar is located. There is another building on the opposite corner with more rooms and a small restaurant where breakfast is also served. These 2 buildings were full so we were directed to the third building which is along the street and around the corner. A 'Residents' building. Not quite sure what that means, but there were locked cupboards in the rooms so one can only assume that the rooms are sometimes owned/rented by residents. The furnishings are basic, but all that you need for a short stay. A desk, a couple of chairs and a strange 'breakfast bar' thing. The curtains are made from PVC and the carpet in my room was very stained. Lots of dark dirty marks and stained by what looked like a bleach spillage. The bed linen was crisp and clean. The pillows are feather and there's only one. The bathroom is clean and there is plenty of hot water. Towels are ok, bath towel is quite small. Nice quiet location. Approx 10 min walk via a footbridge over the autobahn to the Exhibition Halls. Breakfast (21 euros) in the main building is good, as is the buffet/a la carte menu in the evening. Gets very busy during the fairs, so be sure to book your table.
