The person who checked us in was very professional and kind. The room was larger than the previous Ibises we have stayed in and was very comfortable. This Ibis served lunch and dinner, which other Ibises did not. Being close to a bus stop made going to the central city very easy. All in all, we were very impressed withmthismIbis.

The hotel is close to the city centre/train station with a bus stop just in front of the hotel. Further bus and tram stops are within walking distance. The rooms are Ibis standard. Not too big, but clean and equipped with everything one needs. The beda are super comfortable. The breakfast buffet offers a variety of fresh and local food. The only thing that was not according to Ibis standard this time was the staff. Most were not very friendly and attentive as we experienced Ibis staff in other hotels around Europe.

Not good, no soap in shower, food not heated properly, soap not replaced despite me taking the dispenser out and leaving it in the sink as a clue. The staff were friendly and helpful face to face. It's also not Utrecht Central like it claims to be, that is misleading.

The room was pleasant and the bed was comfortable, and it was clear the room was designed for low cost. I was generally happy with my stay. Some improvements 1. There needs to be a grab bar in the shower. When leaving the shower, there is a step down and with a slippery floor, there is a risk of falling. There should be a bar on the wall opposite to the shower head. Also, when using the soap provided, he shower floor can be slippery. 2. I am not sure where the speakers for the TV are located, but my sense is that when on, some of the sound was being broadcast into adjacent rooms. This problem was made worse by walls that were less sound absorbent than desired. 3. The breakfast was quite good but the floor was sticky. 4. The hotel staff was kind and helpful. 5. The housekeeping staff kept the room clean. 6. Bike rental was a plus. 7. The room was a good value for the price. 8. They needed better maps showing more details of the area near the hotel.

Noisy and not very modern

The room was noisy, even late at night other guests were in the hallways, I did not sleep very well. At dinner I ordered a steak medium rare, the one I received was well done and did not taste very good Where the steaks was overcooked, the accompanying potato fries we're actually under-cooked. Using a system where you have to get a coin from the reception every time you want to take your car off the parking lot is very annoying, a better solution must exist. The bar was ok, but sometimes understaffed as the staff is shared with the reception area, meaning guest would have to wait for coffee or tea for well over 10 minutes. The room was clean, but tiny, and the desk hardly had space to place a notebook, it was very uncomfortable to work are for more than half an hour. The toilet seat was set up in such a way that every breath of wind would make it fall down, making a racket in the middle of the night. The bed had a VERY hard surface with a very shallow top mattress, making the bed in all very hard, I couldn't sleep on my side due to this. The duvets did not breath at all, meaning one would have to choose between being warm and also sweaty, or being cold. You can only take the elevator up? You can take the stairs down, but not up. All in all it was one of the worst hotel experience I've had.

The room was clean, reception was helpful, but, the pillows are awful, just a mess of lumps, the bathrooms were not properly stocked with soaps despite me taking the empty container out of its holder and leaving it in the sink, Food was not fully warmed through. The price was cheap but I would rather have paid a little more and had better standards. It's called Utrecht Central but that is the last thing it is, it is a misleading description in my view. There wasn't one. Bar meal not properly heated through and you can hear the staff messing about in the kitchen. for all the reasons mentioned. Out of time and not in the centre Room not properly serviced

Although hotel was a further out of the centre than we expected. The 15 min stroll along the river was easy enough to navigate. Hotel room, amenities and breakfast really nice. Secure parking for our motorcycles was essential, so peace of mind having the under cover parking.

The location of the hotel was perfect for our needs - it was close to a cycle track and had excellent links in to the town. All aspects of our stay were excellent. The staff, although young, were extremely helpful and made us feel that nothing was too much trouble to them. This was particularly the case with the bar and reception staff. Our room was kept very clean. There was only one weak area and that was one night when we dined in the restaurant. We felt that the food was very ordinary for the cost we were expected to pay. Other than this, our stay at Ibis Utrecht was perfect in every way and we would certainly recommend it to any of our friends.

We found the hotel to be average not tea/coffee making in the room, the breakfast was good but on the bill we were charged 60 euro for 2 breakfasts so at 30 euro each this is very over priced and we will query when back in London. The bed was not made only bins changed due I believe to back to back coach parties.

Our breakfast is 15,- per person per day, not 30. Please check as you indicated if this was charged wrong, we will clearly refund this if you overpaid. As for the room, I will be sure to check what happened. We do a limited service on rooms that stay longer, but straightening the bed is normally done unless you used the option to not have your room cleaned in exchange for a discount. I will be sure to see what happened there so that we can make sure anything that went wrong does not happen again. Basic Ibis hotel but clean and tidy, 25 minutes walk into town, No 5 bus stop outside for when it rains. Room compact with comfortable beds. no tea/coffee facilities or drinking water provided, drinks machines in reception BUT for Meeting Rooms ONLY not guests! Bedroom window opened which was good because room seemed quite hot and stuffy.

The receptionist disregarded all our warnings concerning our stay payment and, as a result, we were overcharged at check in. In addition, despite the fact that the outcome has been personally reported to the receptionist, Ms. Irene, the next morning and also that we had already referred to it formally by email, we have not been refunded the due amount in so far. We have no words other than referring to our stay at Ibis Utrecht as non-professional and outrageous enough. Never again!

Dear Renata, Please forgive my delayed answer, I wanted to make sure I spoke to all colleagues and checked our system. As far as we can see or find out, we have only charged the actual amount of the reservation and city tax. When you arrived, a pre-authorisation was made that is a little higher than that amount, but that amount is not taken out of your account. It is only a check to see if the payment is valid. As discussed with Irene when you were here and in answer to your e-mail that you sent, there is not a cent more than the actual amount due charged from you or received by us. This means there will not be a refund or anything for the amount as we did not take it. I am sad to see that this issue, which you told my colleague was clear when you were here, impacted your rating of us and I hope you enjoyed Utrecht nontheless. If you have additional questions or remarks regarding this, please contact me (via the mailaddress you have, but be sure to put in that it is to my attention) and I will do what I can to make clear that we are not the amateurs you think we are.
