« Terrible... should not be called a novotel »

Old and dirty hotel, plastic cups that belong in a 1 star motel, rude and arrogant staff, car park door that doesn’t work. Would never stay in a Novotel again in Europe if this is what to expect - far below the normal standard experienced in Australia

Clean rooms. Breakfast can be improved. First morning at 9, there was no bread anymore avaible. Cooking eggs doesn't work. Welcoming was not so nice and proffesional. Changed rooms because the elevater makes alot of noise. Reception was wondering when I told them. But you can realy heard it.

« Clean, Comfortable, Convenient Hotel located across from Nice Airport and Arenas District, close to Bus 52 which provides a quick ride to the center of town, next to Asian Art Museum »

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Novotel Nice Arenas. We've stayed here many times before and were never disappointed. They provide a shuttle to the airport which is available 24 hours a day and an easy 5 minute walk to Terminal 1. It is easy to hop the bus 52 which runs from the airport into the heart of Nice and the Nice tramway Line 2 from the airport to the city central is under construction and well underway. The Arenas area is being further developed and there are banks and restaurants and nearby the Asian Art Museum and Parc Phoenix - a botanical garden/zoo. The Novotel rooms are clean, comfortable and quiet. The staff is friendly and professional. The restaurants offers a good breakfast, lunch, and dinner and there is bar.

« Nice place to stay near airport. »

The hotel was a good value and location is near the airport as well as convenient bus stops into the city. Room was clean and well appointed. The staff were able to speak English which was a big plus for a first time visitor to France. Breakfasts were generous with a good selection of choices.

« Very disappointed with stay. Usually quite nice. »

A/C did not work. very warm and uncomfortable. Food was very poor People were friendly and transportation to and from airport terminal was good. in dining room. we arrived at hotel around 7 pm and went to room very tired from 2 week stay in France. Room was warm so we went to dining for wine and a lite dinner,. My Croque Monsieur was uncutable. Waitress brought over a steak knife and also unable to cut it. Brought it back to kitchen for a new sandwich. By the time we got upstairs we were exhausted and the room was hot.we were too tired to repack and move so we suffered in silence. All in all, the worst stay at any inn or hotel we have stayed in in France. We have stayed in Novotels in our many trips in last 25 years. Le Harve,Marrsaille,Juan les pins, Paris, Orleans, etc.

« Enjoyable stay »

We stayed the night before boarding a cruise ship in Cannes. Although we arrived early, about midday, our room was ready. We did not have to leave until the afternoon so enjoyed watching the Royal wedding in the lounge. Very convenient hotel, just opposite the airport.

« Well located, clean mid-range hotel »

The hotel is within walking distance of Nice airport, adding the huge bonus that there's no need to arrange onward travel after arrival at the airport. It offers clean accommodation at a mid-range price and is run by enthusiastic staff. However currently, due to no fault whatsoever of the hotel, the roads in the immediate vicinity of the hotel are in uproar due to the construction of tram lines which will eventually directly link the airport to Nice 6km away; that said, it is still easy to navigate your way on foot from the airport to the hotel in around 5 minutes, even with luggage.

Very good fittings in room though the decor is depressing. Excellent mattress but cheapest possible pillows (stuffed with hard lumps of some man-made fibre) made sleep impossible. Little point in providing expensive fittings throughout and then spoil it all for the sake of a decent pillow.

Front desk and airport drivers were very good and professional. I found Bar service to be slow and inattentive. The bathroom in room 607 is in need of maintenance or renovation. Grout is mildew and missing from floor. Sink was smelly when plug was up, so trap needs cleaning.

It would be useful if people at the check-in could speak sufficient English. I love French language, but in a business trip I am interested more in the precise actions and reactions rather than in a row of misunderstandings and mistakes.

My wife stayed at the Novotel Nice Arenas Aeroport on 25 May. The reservation was made by our own travel agency, IATA 02…. When my wife checked in the Reservation Clerk insisted my wife had to pay the Euro 2.50 City Tax in cash and DID NOT provide a receipt. This was NOT added to the account. When my wife checked out in the morning that Reservation Clerk advised the city tax was not on the account and she had to pay it again. On this occasion the tax was added to the account. Having been in the Travel Industry for 34 years this sounds like an organised SCAM by your Reservation staff. Clients staying at an airport hotel are often staying for short periods and have flights to catch and so are in a hurry to check-in and out. Most clients are probably annoyed to be asked to pay again, but hey, it's only Euro 2.50 and they have no time to complain. Do it 100 times and suddenly the Reservation clerk has Euro 250 pocketed. Anyway the situation reflects poorly on Novotel and I fully believe it is a SCAM by your staff.

« Decent hotel located close to the airport »

This hotel is mid-range in terms of comfort and is within easy walking distance of Terminal 1 at Nice airport (Terminal 2 is 12-15mins walk). As a Gold Card member, my room was upgraded to one of the top floor (the 9th), from which I had a good aerial view of the hotel's surrounds, as well as of all the roadworks currently taking place (tramways are being constructed so that there is direct tram access from Nice 6km away - this additionally involves huge re-routing of the original roads). My room was triple glazed and at no time was I aware of any aircraft noise. Breakfast is OK and there's an adequate evening menu in the restaurant. All staff were very welcoming and the room was clean. It was very slightly irking that the daily room cleaning seems to be separate from replenishing the coffee tray (this seems to be an increasing trend in hotels nowadays); if, like me, you leave a card on the door to 'encourage' the cleaners to attend to your room sooner rather than later, it is somewhat annoying when you return only to find the room having been cleaned, but you must still reckon on an intrusion by someone else to do the coffee/tea tray.
