Within the last three years I stayed in various Novotels in Europe. Until recently, I had no real issues and there were no complaints from my side. However, this time we encoutered some situations that were not acceptable. Independently from being Platinum customer with Le Club Accor, I expect some things not to happen: - Claiming to be a four star upper range hotel, there should be an information up front that the lobby area is currently a construction site. A clever management would also inform customers about a charity run in advance. None of both happened. - From a Novotel I would expect better rooms in general. They are clearly subject to a refurbishment, especially bathrooms providing a annoying smell from the sink. - Rooms that are affected by extremly loud music until 5 am in the morning can not be given to any customer. Corresponding complaints must be treated much more seriously. Of course, this is a central city hotel and some background noise from the street must be accepted. A nightclub next door is something different. Requesting a discount for heavily disturbed night was simply rejected. It is reponsibility of the hotel and blaming it on the town administration is a very cheap excuse. By the way, it would be wise for the reception staff to have some ear plugs available at least. - On the same matter: How can it be that the reception staff states that they are not aware of any noise problem from a night club while explaining a few sentences later, that they are in discussion with the town administration about it?!? This was a blunt lie! Of course, they are aware of the problem. - Giving a room upgrade for the last night and some loyalty points is of course some compensation. But, in the end this was inevitable to allow some peaceful sleep. What do I care if the new room has a Nespresso machine? From my point of view, problems can occur, that's a fact. However, many of them could be avoided by taking appropriate measures beforehand. And if they happen, customers must be treated like what they are: Paying customers! I can not recommend to stay at this hotel while his management is in place.

it was ok. our room was too small for four people. there was sofa bed for my kids. it was bot ready when we arrive . so i requested to open it , housekeeoing lady make me move the objects and open the sofa bed my self. that is not acceptable from a four star otel. i do not stay in an apartment .

The room we got, the view was really nice. And very convenient close to the old town. Just parking could have been explained better as we went to the mall and ended up asking someone and then the security guards who showed us where. It is not clear how to get to the hotel from the garage. Since we parked 13 first. And construction was a bit a shame. We didn't know about that.

This property is in need of some serious attention. Although it was good to see that the lobby area was under construction, it would have been good to be notified by the property that this was the case, We likely would have chosen somewhere else to stay due to the significant disruption. Although the room looked good/contemporary at first, after spending some time in the room the scares of age started to show. The carpet had significant staining making the entire room feel unclean. The toilet wobbled and was not securely attached to the floor, the sink drain was nearly 100% clogged and took overnight to drain properly. There was a large, very obvious, hair on the shower wall. Also the noise from running water and flushing toilets would wake us up in the evening - sounded like the whole room was flooding. Not sure how this property can be called a 4 star, it presents like a 2 1/2 star property at best with limited amenities.

I was upgraded from IBIS to the NOVOTEL and it was an excellent experience

Room is bigger, there is a fridge and a safe which is much appreciated. Personnel was very friendly and Professional The wifi seemed less strong, however, that was the only disadvantage.

The hotel's right, but they're downgrading. In the entrance they were of works, but without separating physically of the zones of passage. With the exception of a simple railing. The rest of the stay, sufficiently correct.

The hotel is very well located, close to restaurants, trams, shopping and sightseeing. It is currently under renovation. Considering the kind of average hotel, the disturbance due to the renovation and some very rude staff, € 123 per night was a rip-off. Also, as Accor members, we were treated very badly. The only polite, courteous and friendly person in the hotel was Thomas at the reception. I have posted my review on Accor customer service and have asked for a reply.

Overall is average. Reception area is under renovation, significant messy and front desk staff doesn't provide welcome drinks to us. We open the room door, the sofa bed doesn't open, we need to re-set by ourselves because the room is limited place.

We appreciated the call prior to arrival regarding parking but it was really hard to find our way out of the car park to the hotel. Better signage would be helpful. We were all tired after a long journey and to then arrive at the hotel and find its reception half a building site was very disappointing. The room was fine but very cramped for the 4 of us and poor value overall given breakfast was extra and the building works. This was compared with other accommodation of a similar price in Germany and Austria.

Novotel is one among our favourite hotels when we are on holidays. The room is tidy, with the basic facilities needed before you start your journey. Coffee, milk etc are made available. The bed is wide enough for a couple to sleep properly and is comfortable. The staff is welcoming and provide the required info which helps in starting the visit of the town. We had a great time in Strasbourg. However I must say that the experience we had in Strasbourg is much much better than that we had in Thailand.

Works are in progress for a new lobby. Very unpleasant entrance for the guests, another hotel refurbishment we have to endure while working in Strasbourg. I realised I had no charger for my iPhone and the reception answer was that the hotel does not do it any longer. As I had to go to work early the first morning I had no time to buy a charger before the second day I stayed at the hotel and had no access to my phone for more than 24 hours. I believe chargers should be available at the reception. Another very unpleasant experience. There used to be some charm in meeting familiar faces at the reception desk. The trainees keep changing and the charm is gone. House keeping is supposed to replace tea bags and water offered by the hotel. I didn't have the luxury of such attention. Little things that make up the new face of the hotel which, I'm afraid, is deteriorating. It's only lack of time that is keeping me from looking for a new hotel room for the plenary sessions in Strasbourg. It's been a while colleagues have started leaving your hotel and the hotel does nothing to improve its service. Sorry to say, it was a barely satisfactory stay, only due to the familiarity of the surroundings.

Check in was efficient and room pleasant and well equipped and stay was good with the exception of the breakfast experience. I only comment on the breakfast because of the amount of money that is charged for it, it should provide the customer with a good choice and nice environment. The breakfast area looked like a war zone with many uncleared tables and there were many shortages of food in the buffet. The staff were working hard but there were clearly too few to quickly rectify the issues. This was a very poor experience and not good value.
