Brilliant service by Florin

We checked in with Florin at 1am after a long drive and received friendly and efficient service from start to finish. Florin was really helpful and assisted with our parking and room needs without us needing to ask. Spacious room equipped with everything we needed for a short stay

Keri was super helpful, the first coffee was not correct in her opinion and so she poured another, nothing was too much trouble.

On arriving the reception was full of conference guests on a tea break as well as some checking in - the reception desk was 4/5 people deep. The advisor asked for my surname and frantically looked through his box….only then to say your with the conference? No I'm not, flustered as if it was my fault that he wasn’t aware but if I’d got so much as a hello I might of said - he found my details, said sign here and told the lady next to him that this was for me - this being the room keys which she promptly placed on the desk - no here you go, no your room is, no directions are, no breakfast is served at, the bar is etc. nothing not a word - I looked at her and said is that it - she said yes. So off we wandered in an unknown direction to find our room - of which we felt was the equivalent to walking the runway at stansted. Anyway room itself was clean and tidy no complaints there aside from the beds are rock hard! And it is very hot, there is no temperature control in the room. We were there for a wedding so several in our party were turning up, an elderly uncle of 87 years had to walk the stretch to the rooms 3 times as his key card did not work! 3 times! We sat in the bar, staff very friendly and attentive however soon the conference was over and around 100 people were queuing for the bar - staff could not go any quicker but a few more of them would have been handy. We’d been in the bar for around 3 hours - waiting for the restaurant to open - by chance we saw some food come out to the bar area and asked if we could order here to which we could! If only we knew! We ordered food. An hour later I asked at the bar if they knew how long it would take - the bartender said I’m so sorry the order didn’t reach the kitchen - he’ll send it through now. He asked his manager if we could be compensated at all - we got given a welcome drink card each. Great thanks very much however the exceptions were spirits….we’d only been drinking spirits so the bar refused our drinks request - I returned to reception where they were issued and the girl said it should just be any drink just tell them that. Back to the bar I went, where they said no she should not of told me that! Anyway she then got authorisation for house vodka or gin to be issued. Great I’ll have two - no you can only have one? The welcome drink voucher clearly stated a drink for you and your guest which I highlighted to the girl - we laughed and said imagine if we had six kids they could all get one - anyway it was still a no - just one! Food came out swiftly, however three orders were wrong and were sent back. By this time we were so over it we had one drink and returned to the rooms to watch the very basic TV.. I gather the conference members were in the same area as us as all night you could hear conversations and doors shutting. 5.30am I was kindly woken by the police outside my door who were waking up Adam from the floor corridor- he was been removed from the hotel for criminal damage - maybe these conferences should have a drink limit? Anyway back to sleep then 7am was the room service trolley collecting the empties from outside peoples doors - I mean they’d been there since 4pm the day before so why 7am I do not know! Off to the wedding and a return taxi is provided by the hotel - it was there when scheduled and no problems. A much quieter night in the hotel as the conference was over, the corridor was still quiet at 9am wahoo. Breakfast was good no complaints. Overall I feel this hotel is very much corporate based. They focus their attention to the big parties other than individual bookings. I had emailed the hotel in regards to my booking request which was ignored, I had to call a week later to ask if they had capacity - after booking I also then found it’s cheaper on booking.com than direct! They could maybe do with some new mattress toppers, I have a habit of stripping a bed prior to my departure as feel it makes the housekeepers day…however I wish I didn’t in this instance to then see what I had slept on!

Cet hôtel a son parking payant, non affiché sur le comptoir de la réception, ni sur la voie d'accès de ca parking, non éclairé, non abrité et en mauvais état. Il n'est pas non plus signalé par le personnel de la réception, malgré la demande faite pour savoir s'il est possible de recharger un véhicule électrique, donc qu'il y a une voiture à stationner. En payant le jour du départ, je signale que je n'ai pas pris de p.d.j., mais il m'est facturé. Pas de demande si j'ai un véhicule au parking. Professionnalisme dans cet hôtel égal à 00. Par contre, envoi d'une contravention, dont le coût est supérieur à celui de la chambre. Là, chapeau! Les autres hôtels du groupe ACCOR, à Northampton ou Milton Keynes sont nettement au-dessus au niveau service. Aucune réponse de la part d'un responsable suite à un mail envoyé pour signaler ce problème, ainsi qu'après un signalement au service client ACCOR, montre l'état d'esprit du management et donc du personnel. A éviter, il ya mieux pas loin.
