Terrible. Miss, mould and mildew everywhere.room was filthy. People were rude except for 1 cleaning lady who knew more about the hotel than the manager. Manager terribly rude. No restaurant but I was not told. Maintenance work outside my window that I as not told would occur from 7am. Overall an exhausting experience. I couldn’t even get a coffee!

Not a happy camper, wouldn't stay here again.

Reception closed when we arrived. Key cards didn't work, constantly taking back to replace. King bed is two single beds pushed together. Had to purchase our own mattress topper. Works being done on building, woken every morning at 8am by jackhammers. Restaurant and bar closed. Window cleaning team with crane near pool, so no privacy to enable use of pool. Enquired about cancelling, refund and booking else where, told not a possibility. Very unenjoyable stay over all.

We had a very positive stay at Mantra Darwin. We were in the penthouse apartment with water views & a balcony. We were accommodated with a late checkout (1 hour extra) when we requested it. The hotel amenities were as advertised and so we were satisfied. We would stay here again should we return to Darwin!

Not a hotel and unhelpful front desk

Agree with the previous reviewer this is not a hotel nor an apartment, no facilities to wash up (or crockery to wash) yet washing up liquid and tea towels provided. Booked a twin room but the room was made up as a double, I asked the receptionist if it could be changed and he said they didn’t have any twin rooms, I said the bed could be divided in two but he said this couldn’t be done until the next day by housekeeping. After I said this was unacceptable I said I’d make it up myself and he agreed to bring some bedding up, which he did and made the bed up after I had divided the base units. Note the double glazing is ineffective as if you’re staying on the Peel Street side there is an Irish bar on the corner and another one behind which seemed to compete with the volume of their music, coupled with patrons singing loudly made for a disturbed nights sleep to at least 3am on the Friday we stayed there.

As for the room type that was booked, it was a standard room and did not have a kitchen - note that all of our apartment types like the one-bedroom, two-bedrooms and three-bedrooms are equipped with kitchen and laundry facilities. However, we do provide washing liquid and tea towel in the standard room as some of our guests asked to have this in the room so that they can wash their cups or glasses themselves. This was my 3rd trip to Darwin, but my first and last at the Mantra Esplanade. Let's start with the fact that it's basically unidentifable from the road, with all of the visible signage referring to the Darwin Esplanade Central Aparthotel that the Mantra shares facilities with. Then there's the dingy lobby area, with the Mantra check-in occupying a small corner of the lobby area. A separate "base building" card in order to use the lift is just an unnecessary inconvenience for what is supposed to be a high quality hotel. My room smelled stale and musty and bore little resemblance to the photos in both its decor and modernity. The aircon controls appeared to be from the 1980s and had no specific temperature control. Light sleepers would have been staring at the ceiling all night from the incessant hum from the aged domestic refrigerator in the uninspiring furniture. And, whilst it's the epitomy of first world problems, a hotel that doesn't make up your room during the day isn't really a hotel. It's "accommodation" but it's not a hotel. No onsite bar. No restaurant. Dismal appearance. Hardly what I expect from an Accor Hotel.

As for the accommodation package, it did not include a daily housekeeping service. However, our team would gladly refresh towels, replenish amenities and remove rubbish upon request.
