Beautiful appartment, clean, friendly staff and awesome location. Loved it. We are returning in August with more friends and family. I would definitely recommend the Breakfree Peninsula surfers. Nothing was a problem when re booking for August. Highly recommend 👌

The Penisula has the best facilities from The cleanliness of the apartments to the pool and landscaping - you are a short walk to Cavill avenue and the beach is right across the road. You have to ask for wifi and there is no foxtel but really if you are on holidays the view from the balcony will keep you entertained . The staff are friendly and apartments spacious the bed and pillows are so Comfy as well I would highly recommend

Would Never Ever stay there again.

I would like to let your future guests know that we had several complaints regarding our stay at The Peninsular last night the 20th February 2024. The whole process from the moment we checked in went downhill. I booked this in April 2023 through Booking.com – 2 x 2 bedroom apartments for 4 adults at $445/per apartment per night and the room standard between both apartments was not equal. You could tell both apartments have had a refurbishment in sections of the rooms. Just not the entire apartment. A bit weird but I guess that is the apartment owner’s right. The refurbished parts were very nice and modern though. Also I am an Accor member and I was not told that this property was affiliated and if I had known I would have booked through them and not Booking.com. Even when I checked in I wasn’t made aware this property was with Accor. Anyway as I had phoned multiple times over the last year I contacted the hotel to double check about having the bedding configuration made into double beds. I was told to call back and check closer to the date and when I did last month I was then told that this would not be a possibility. There were no children and as adults we all wanted to have double/queen size beds. But I discussed this with the other guests and we decided for the 1 night we would just put up with it. I wish this had been relayed to me in the first instance. Because this was a long standing booking I at least expected our rooms to be close to one another. No- we were in Room 21C and 6E. Room 21C had NO air-conditioning in the apartment. Fans only in the bedrooms and lounge. I was absolutely appalled that this could even happen. Especially in this day and age and particularly when Queensland has had one of the hottest and humid summers for about 40 years. On the backside of the main entrance door there is a sign asking guests to make sure they turn off the Aircon. Not sure how I could when there was none. I then called the other guests who were in Room 6E and they informed me that they had a room with air-conditioning in the lounge but none in the bedrooms and they had no fans in the bedrooms. This room was an apparent “upgrade” to a 3 bedroom room which really wasn’t necessary but they were just grateful to have some air-conditioning. (that’s for sure) As the phone in Room 21C did not allow me to call down to reception I had to go back downstairs to see a staff member at the front desk to ask about being moved to another room and Ruth told me that they were fully booked and because we only were there for the 1 night it was not possible to be shifted. I was not happy about this of course. Of course what can I do. We were stuck. If I had known that I had to request a room with air-conditioning I would have done it. But I was never informed at any stage when I phoned the complex (as per above regarding the bedding configuration etc) I then went to the other room 6E to compare the room size/layout and the noise from the renovations next door ( I assumed ) was deafening. A lot of banging and machine noises. I then phoned Ruth (on my mobile) at reception (there was actually no phone in their apartment) and asked when this was going to be finished for the day and when would it resume the next day. Ruth said it would be finished by 5pm and restart again at 8am. So not a great start to the stay. We were on the Gold Coast for the Pink Concert which is why we booked so far in advance. So we started getting ready to go to the concert by having a bath and shower. The main bathroom with a bathtub had no bath gel for the tub. In the shower there was only shampoo and conditioner so I couldn’t use that either. The only bath gel was at the sink so I had to go get a glass from the kitchen and pump some into it for my bath. After 4 or 5 pumps this bottle was empty. Poor Ruth then received another phone call (from my mobile) about getting this replenished. Then I went to the other bathroom and it also had no bath gel in that shower either, only over the sink. Pumped it for some more bath gel and it was empty as well. I then went and started getting a shower and my friend answered the door for me and then Ruth had to be told that we needed another one. My friend was in the room that had the double bed and turned on the fan to try and cool down the room and promptly started sneezing and ended up with a running nose and weeping eyes. (we soon discovered why – the fans are very very dusty) Also the intake fan in the bathrooms are very dirty and need vacuuming out for the dust. (My friend is actually an Airbnb cleaner and was shocked at the state of the lack of cleanliness in the apartment) The range hood over the stove is absolutely filthy as well – not that we used it. When you open the cupboards in the kitchen they have a musty smell. Just for your reference to get your cleaners to do a better job. So we head out to the concert and it was a very late night for us (3 of us are all over 60 and 1 person is 32) The bus and tram lines were absolutely jam packed of course for the show. We get back around 12.40am. Our room 21C was still hot and humid and nothing we could do to cool down the rooms so we just sucked it up and tried to get some sleep. My friend couldn’t sleep with the fan otherwise her sneezing and eyes watering started up again. So she didn’t get much sleep. I’m in the room with the 2 single beds which are not King singles so it was not a great sleep for me either. We are up around 7.30 because the road noise was coming in from the open balcony doors which we had to leave open to try and generate some airflow. When I phoned my friends in room 6E around 9am they told me they were awoken by a workman who was there to repair the front door (It was obviously a door that had been replaced as it was not painted) The repairman was absolutely shocked when he discovered the room was occupied with guests – he had been told that it would be empty ( And as you remember we were told the complex was fully booked ) So he went downstairs to check what was going on and he was told to go ahead and fix the door. I do not know who he spoke with. Is this something that your property condones? To do repair work while there are guests still on site inside the actual property. Obviously we left asap. It was just uncomfortable for them – lucky they weren’t in a state of undress. So as you can tell our stay with you was not very pleasant and I would request that you give me a refund of at least one apartment. You have my card details and I do not want a free night or a credit. I want a full refund in the amount of $445.00. I think that is the least you could do to redeem any sense of goodwill. I know it is something you can do as I paid your property and you took a $400 deposit using the same credit card. I can imagine guests would notl like to be treated in this manner. I have contacted the manager of the resort and have yet to hear back from her. Disappointing again.

Disgusting unhealthy dirty Apartment

Disgusting unhygienic dirty apartment. I'm going to upload all the photos of apartment 23F to every trip advisor app to show everyone how wrong the advertisement is and charge $1300+ for a sh$t hole that is unhygienic for anyone especially for families with young children. I've photos with untested appliances (last test was on 2017!!!) Dirty kitchen!!! Food still inside the drawers !!! Oven hasn't been tested and still a 1980s oven plus it wasn't clean!!!! Missing and broken tiles in the bathroom!!!! Dirty Disgusting couch that made the apartment smell!!! The furniture such as the tv unit, coffee table, kitchen benchtop everything were pealing off . Door handles falling apart , holes and dirt on curtains. I requested the same day that I moved in a portable fan because the fan in one of the bedrooms wasn't fully functioning. They were unable to provide me ONE fan for the 6 days that I stay. I have much more to share about this apartment and let me not get stared on management. I paid a decent amount for this disgusting unsafe apartment. I was ignored when I approached her (manager) and she took 4 days to get back to my email regarding me concerns. This is not how you run a place. I'M NOT RECOMMEND BREAKFREE PENINSULA SURFERS APARTMENTS TO ANYONE!!!!!

Very dirty, management was terrible, majority of appliances didn’t work including the air conditioning and to top it all off the kitchen flooded. When trying to contact after hours staff, they advised they couldn’t assist until reception opened so we had to sit in a flooded kitchen until reception opened (a good 3 hour wait). Very disappointed with our stay.
