Excellent family resort - Angsana

Family of 6 pax with 3 kids under 5 yo, stayed 5 nights 6 days at Angsana resort. Service is excellent. Staff at Angsana are wonderful & really cater to families with young children like ours. We felt very welcome and some notable mentions to: Elvaretta, Burahman, Maria & Franziska (kids club), Fendi, Arie and the breakfast ladies who are too many to name!! Some of these people also helped us when our toddlers were in the middle of a meltdown. Wonderful staff!! Food choices - several options, 8 restaurants as this property is shared by Angsana, Banyan Tree & Cassia. So basically you share the facilities and restaurants across resorts. There is one restaurant Saffron, which serves Thai food and has a kids menu - I’d suggest not to go there if you have young kids. Environment is “too fine dining” and the expectation to have 3 kids under 5 yo to sit still was too much for us. We also felt awkward as most people were couples trying to have a romantic dinner. My suggestion to management is to make this a child free restaurant. Food there was excellent though. Food choices at this resort was the best we have experienced in Bintan and we have been to Bintan about 6 times before at various other resorts. However, you will be confined to the resort only. There are no shops outside. And resort food while good quality is a factor 10 more expensive than local food. Room quality is a bit dated, can be improved with renovations. Also we had the family island suite - photo was a bit misleading as I thought there were 2 levels. However it’s one level with 2 rooms. Beach is excellent -soft white sand, no waves which makes it perfect and safe for kids to play in the water. However Bintan is not so developed so you can forget about shopping - even in the city. Everything is closed on weekdays. Good for just being in the resort.

First time stay in Angsana Amazing hotel with nice view and cozy place, near to another hotel even we can eat at their restaurant, but room kinda old. Hotna at the front desk it's really helpful and professional. Definitely will come back.

First time im come in angsan bintan I get warm greeting from the front liner and them ranged the Gong Staff in angsan so really friendly Angsana Bintan is the best hotel for staycetion because the angsana hotel have a good seaview, and angsana so really beuty and calm on the night Made me folling in love

I stayed in Angsana Bintan for 2 nights. It was memorable stay. The staff are very friendly and helpfull. Upon check in they hit the "Gong" for welcoming guest, it was so unique. That is one of their traditional ceremony. Check ning process was so smooth, thanks to Hotna for the explanation about the facilities. We will come back again.

Angsana Bintan is in a lovely place on a wonderful beach, but feels old, dated, not particularly well maintained. Our family room felt a bit like a 1990s apartment in spain, not particularly well appointed, and very basically furnished. The bathrooms in particular are well overdue modernisation, and the hot tub was cold water only. We ate breakfast in Lotus restaurant, the staff were amazing and cant be faulted. Breakfast buffet was ok, some may say fairly limited, personally I found it fine. Strange though as a family resort that there would be no hot cholocate drink available in the morning. The beach was kept spotlessly clean and was a highlight of the resort, though the Angsana pool was uncomfortably warm - to the extent i'd even say the temperature could be a health risk in terms of bacteria. Pool at Cassia was much more pleasant. Prices were disappointingly Singapore levels throughout the resort for food and drink, which is perhaps understanding at the higher end restaurants of Banyan Tree, but the prices in the grab and go at Cassia for a soft drink were frankly exploitative. This is a weak reflection of the promises of the Angsana brand - it certainly did not feel like a luxury stay in any element of our holiday, and overall we were disappointed with value for money.
