Excellent and beautiful hotel with an amazing buffet. However, could do with some minor improvements to make it 10/10

Spent 6 nights at the Rixos. Four of us in total. Overall I think the hotel was excellent! Things that really stood out include food, the Godiva cafe, salmon poke bowls and paddling! Excellent hotel with exceptional buffet. Could do with some improvements to make it 10/10. Ideally I'd give them a 4.5/5 but giving them a 4/5 as not an option and 5/5 would imply it's perfect / no improvements can be done. I think if Rixos focused on these improvements there's no reason why it couldn't be 5/5. I personally would consider coming back. Only hotel that I think is better in this area is Mandarin Oriental. Food: Food was really really good. I've been to quite a few all-inclusives both in Turkey and Morocco and they don't match Rixos. The buffet was excellent. One of the best I've had. Not necessarily a crazy amount of options but imo more than enough for everyone. And more importantly the quality and taste was top tier. The only hotel I've had where the all inclusive was better was perhaps Fairmount in Dubai. Otherwise this is the best. A la carte restaurants were a very nice experience with beautiful seating areas and views. Better than the buffet. But the food I would say is better at the buffet. There's also extra costs for these restaurants. People's restaurant is excellent. Really nice views and options are really nice. My personal favourite was the salmon poke/salad bowl. Absolutely lovely and one of the best Poke bowls I've had. Strongly recommend. Their drinks are good too but I did have a scenario where they accidentally brought alcoholic drink despite asking for non-alcohol. Rooms: The rooms are nice and spacious. The views at beautiful with lovely view of the hillside, land and sea as well as the islands and hills in the distance. Very picturesque with bird sounds all around . However, I would say the room are a bit dated. There are some rooms in the hotel that have been refurbished that look really good. Despite this they do work very well and we had no issues. Just not as modern / luxurious as you'd want. Air condition was good, cleaning was good and everything worked. Also, the rooms were a little far from main building. We had to request buggies a lot to colllect us and take us back. They're generally very available but just factor this in mind. Activities: Paddling - we did paddling a few mornings at 10am. Very fun. You have to book in advance. They taught us how to get on and stand and then gave us a tour of the coast next to the hotel. Very nice we had a lot of fun! Water sports - we did jet skiing but just a note that prices are extortionate. Like crazy high. 150 euros for a jet ski ride for 2 people?!? I've been to Morocco and it's literally 3-5x cheaper. Around 30-40 euros. May be due to being on a hotel site. May also be country differences. I think Bodrum is also a bit more expensive compared to other resort cities like Antalya and Dalaman. Make sure you haggle with prices cause they're absurd. Tennis- we sadly ran out of time to do this but you can book this and the views from the court look stunning. Staff: Generally very nice and always available to check if you need drinks. Sometimes we felt though that staff were a bit 'strict' when it came to requests. Generally with a luxury hotel you assume you'll get a service where they really try hard to cater for everything. This wasn't the case and I think that could be improved. The idea that guest is always right and that they go the extra mile for you imo is what makes a hotel stand out and what I've seen at ultra luxury hotels. Also, there was a big language barrier. Most staff speak little / no English. Lots of app translations needed. We've been to Antalya and Dalaman and English seems to be better there. Unsure if this is a location or hotel issue but something to be aware of. General hotel comments: When you arrive they set you up in a group chat on WhatsApp with a personal assistant that can answer any questions. Good for any queries or issues and can also request buggies with it (though they might not be extremely responsive). They can also book things in for you. Very useful and convenient and should become the norm at 10/10 hotels! Godiva - very nice cafe with beautiful views. The chocolate is really really nice. I strongly suggest getting coffee here over anywhere else on the island. It's generally much nicer. Gym was good but really needs to be air conditioned properly. It was HOT in there. Also if they can change hours so it's available later would be great even if it's not supervised. Maybe with a notice / form at reception if there's legal liability issues. Pool - could be a bit more heated. The main lobby area when you first walk in is beautiful. Stunning aesthetic. The balcony too has some stunning views. The hotel doesn't feel crowded. Note that we did go just before the on-season but there was always space including a sun bed and restaurants didn't feel overly full. Also don't feel empty. April was a good time to go though some cold / cloudy days.

amazing stay. will definitely book for end of the year again.

fantastic resort, beautiful scenery , delicious food. In spa services are extremely expensive compared to many resorts around the world. there are lots and lots and lots of steps , 170 steps from the breakfast room to our room up hill, so not for everyone, we didn't mind it as it was good to burn the calories. the beach and the pier are stunning. the customer service is phenomenal from reception to beach staff. the variety of food is excellent. Godiva cafe has delicious sweets/ coffee.

This May 2024 we visited for the second time Rixos Premium Bodrum we stayed for 4 days. By this time all the staff came to know us starting from the front Desk Manager Mr. Cagdas & his assistants Alper & Seleen. At the fitness and Yoga team leader Mr. Oaktay and his assistants Yaqoub & Merve. At the magnificent restaurant Chef Fayzuallah and his assistants Mehmet & Mohammed & Besir & Meret. The Rixos Premium Bodrum is one of the best Hotels in the area (We proudly call it our second home.) Highly recommended

HOLIDAY FROM HELL - AVOID AT ALL COSTS

I don't actually know where to start. Perhaps with the positives - the hotel, facilities and surroundings are beautiful. The one member of staff who actually helped us was Alper at reception. That's where it ends. Now onto the negatives - staff are terribly trained, and management cannot deal with anything appropriately. We quite frankly had the holiday from hell starting from the Kids Club losing one of our children - yes you read that correctly, they lost our 7 year old child who managed to freely walk out of the kids club and was found BY US roaming alone on the pier in the sea!!! Imagine leaving your child in the responsibility of adults and they manage to lose them in an unknown country - every parent's worst nightmare. In response from management we got "sorry, at least you found her". Yes, thankfully she didnt fall into a swimming pool or the sea whilst she was meant to be in your care. Then there is the small detail of our family being harassed by another family which ultimately involved the police. Unfortunately nobody in Turkey speaks english (police included) so this was a horrific experience as the other family spoke the native language. The hotel promised to move our rooms for our safety but then ignored us when we requested the room move. They refused to remove the family which then resulted in more harassment towards us the parents, and our 4 children. 'Security' are also absolutely useless. When this woman attacked us, they stood back and watched!! We have never felt so unsafe in a holiday resort and to put it into content, we are 2 mothers lone travelling with our 4 young children. Now the worst parts are out of the way, I will address some smaller details. The service is honestly so bad. You have to sit yourself down in a restaurant because staff just ignore you. They don't welcome you, they don't come over with menus, drink orders etc. (with the exception of the beach staff who were very friendly and attentive). This is not down to rudeness, but a complete lack of training. Housekeeping - we had a pair of AirPods and Hermes sandals go missing from our room. We reported this sooo many times and were simply ignored again and again and again. We mentioned it again at check out and the response was "sorry about that". We were so exhausted from the holiday, we had no energy left to even argue about this as we just wanted to get home. Medical - there is a doctor on site which is handy, but no pharmacy. I became sick and needed medicine. The hotel collected the medicine for me but refused to give it to me until i gave them cash...Alas, there is no cash point on site. I asked for it to be put on the room but they insisted on cash. So i was made to walk along the dual carriage way to the closest cash point. I'd also like to add, I was told I had Bronchitus & Laringitus and needed an IV drip and hospital trip. I politely declined and just accepted the cough medicine. Turns out I had none of the above, just a chesty cough from the air con. One of our daughters also hurt her foot and we were told she had broke it (which she clearly hadn't!) so please be warned if using the medical facilties as it seems they tend to exaggerate for some reason.....££? Honestly, i've only touched the surface on this hotel. Having visited many Rixos resorts globally, this hotel lets down the whole chain. Ive asked to speak to a manager multiple times but i am given a different name each time. I ideally want to speak to a manager of the whole Rixos chain, not just the Bodrum hotel, as this all needs rectifying. Its such a shame as I am not usually one to complain but this simply couldn't be ignored. There were far too many significant issues for me to ignore this especially as we spent a lot of money here.

All permission types have been asked on this register card before your child is accepted in Rixy to be able to know the care types. As you confirmed those, the child care has been provided depending on your permissions.. In this point, we are surprise your comment and sorry for any inconvenience that this permission leads. Regarding the language matter, we are one of well-known hotel chains and our staff is highly educated, especially Guest Relations, Front Office and Rixy Kids Club staff may speak more than one foreign language. Due to that we are surprised that you were having issues with communication. At Rixos Hotels, we strive to provide a superior service experience for every customer; therefore your feedback is very important to us. Please rest assured that we are taking the appropriate measures to address some matters and prevent future occurrence.
