Mercure Centre Port Hotel - our 'go to' hotel in Cherbourg

This is our 'go to' hotel in Cherbourg. We have been staying there for about five years and the standards remain consistently high. Bedrooms, as well as common areas, are scrupulously clean and very well maintained. On this occasion we were fortunate to be allocated a room upgrade with fantastic views to sea and over the port - but all rooms provide excellent views here. The Mercure breakfast is also particularly impressive, providing for just about every requirement! Overall, a great short stay in an excellent hotel supported by very good team.

After staying a previous night at another hotel in Cherbourg, we realised why this hotel is the best rated in Cherbourg. Staff friendly and attentive. Room was what you would expect. Food was fantastic. We will be coming back to this hotel and happy to recommend it to your readers. Well done - keep up the excellent work.

Good hotel near port of Cherboug. Good location. Food and drink expensive.

Nice hotel with parking very near port of Cherbourg and beside a shopping mall. Food and drinks expensive. Lovely room in great location. Rooms were spacious, well equipped with lovely views of the river. Great location for travel on Ferries.

We booked this hotel on Booking.Com , in the notes we asked for a high floor room with views , Booking.com confirm the hotel had seen our message and confirmed our request , sadly on arrival we were given a room on the 3rd floor with OK views to the side , we will go back but next time we will ring the hotel direct for confirmation of what part of the hotel our room is in , the beds are comfortable and the bar area on the ground floor is modern and there is outside sitting space .

Nice clean rooms, good location. Bit hit and miss with staff, some seemed good, especially the breakfast staff, but others seemed less bothered, waited at the bar on several occasions to be served drinks when staff were in the vicinity and had seen us, but they just continued with what they were doing. We went elsewhere for drinks in the end. Needed milk for tea/coffee in the room so asked at the bar on a separate night and met a very helpful member of staff who gave me a little jug for the room. So a bit hit and miss.
