Good palace to Stay in Basel

I have booked a queen size room at the Novotel Basel City. The hotel is about a 10 minute walk from Basel SBB railway station, or you can take trams 10, 11 or 16 to the hotel or from the hotel to the city centre. The room faced the street and was on the top floor, so it was quiet and not noisy, even the situation. They rooms have a kettle, tea, coffee and on the bathroom they offer all the toiletries required. The staff are really nice, they all speak English and are really helpful. I highly recommend the bar and the restaurant, the food is really good.

I cannot recommend this hotel or this chain for families, they are not prepared to deal with families with small kids, very NOT customer friendly and unflexible, when you travel with kids anything can happen and as a business they should be more accommodating. Not using them ever again

Standard business hotel, nothing fancy, conveniently located. Restaurante is average. 15min from SBB Basel. Breakfast is correct, dinner and drinks are okish too. For the price there are better options, yet not located so close to train

This is a nice hotel just a few stops from the city on No.15 tram route . It's a modern clean hotel with friendly staff. They have a restaurant which has a small menu but everyone said the food was very good. For older people as was the group we were with the found most of the modern seating very low and not easy to rise from. There are a number of trams that pass the door. and we were giver a Baselcard for free Use of public transport, Also free surfing the Guest Wi-Fi in Basel . You also can rent a Ebike for a flat rate of CHF 20 a day. The bathroom was a good size and well lit. Try pressing the round magic button on the shower wall.

Visited the hotel for short city holiday and visit to Xmas markets. A great choice for a short break. The hotel was great - Awesome and helpful staff. I asked for directions to town center and was provided not just the maps but helpful advice that you would expect from the front office. Break fast options were a bit limited and a bit boring but I guess they were restricted by the standards and menu set by the brand. Having said that, wife ordered a customised Spanish omelette and it was made to her liking. I was slightly hesitant of the distance from city centre but it was a straight road to city centre and I am glad we were a bit away from the center. The rooms were quieter and the travel was straightforward. Trams just opposite the hotel and travel to and from airport was smooth
