Not for tourists, far from public transport. Recommended for business trip in Schwabing area

Would not have picked this for our leisure trip but we were part of a group tour. This is in the business district and not near tourist areas like Marienplatz. To take an Uber or Bolt to Marienplatz area is around 19 euros; to the airport, 76 euros (for a 20-25 minute drive). Public transport can be a hassle - the train is about 12 minute walk. The bus is not that often and is around 300 meters from the hotel. The grocery too is about 10 minute walk and the area, if at night, is not that well lit (although we felt safe). But hotel is typical IBIS - it's clean, comfy beds, good service. And we were pleasantly surprised we were charged just 15 euros to extend 4 hours.

Bad experience X 3. 1. Wi-Fi didn't work in my room. Tried to call the front desk but no information on the phone or in the room about how to call reception. So I went downstairs to tell the front desk, rude guy at the front desk told me it's working, but it never did. 2. Then that night my heating pad blew the fuse in the room. Same rude guy comes to the room and blames me (worked in 5 other hotels in Europe), and can't fix it so he changed my room at 11pm (terrible inconvenience). 3. In the morning, the red chair in the room collapsed under me and I injured my back and have a huge bruise (5 days later) - at least the Assistant Manager (Tony) was nice and sympathetic.

I stayed for 4 days and 3 nights with my friend. The room was just like advertised visualy. However there was a big issue with the room tempreature. The warmth option of the air condititioning wasn't working and the room was as cold as outside. And when I asked for help they said that this is as warm as it gets and there is nothing they can do about this issue. They just gave us 2 more duvets and we slept like it was a camp site.

Absolutely no surprise in this perfectly standard Ibis hotel. Once there you do not know where you are, as it is fully standardized like any Ibis in the world. Good, because you get what you want to have: affordable stay with sufficient confort. Of course the rooms have a limited size and the bathroom is not beautiful but everything is there.

Good 3 star hotel. Good connection to a city center. If you come on the weekend you can park a car for free in the nearby street. Free wi-fi. Nice view of the city centre and Olympic park (incl BMW headquarters).
