Good, but not good for a 5-star hotel

It is a beautiful hotel, and it is situating close to most places one would want to see in Amsterdam. We had a junior suite which was roomy and clean. The main problem, however, was the bed: it was singularly uncomfortable for two people to sleep on. The mattress had something on top of it, under the sheets, but whatever it was, it was uneven and thicker in the middle than at the edges on the bed. We could not rest well in the night and woke up with back pain in the morning. Less important problems, but still annoying: very little light in the room, and not immaculate room service. On our second day my pajamas were thrown crumpled on our suitcase rather than neatly folded and left on the bed, and I had to call the "butler" to ask for coffee pods for the coffee machine. All of these problems (except for the bed) are easy to ignore, but for a 5 star hotel with about $1,000 per day price tag it is disappointing. I also thought the "butler service" was really a gimmick, the hotel would do good to eliminate this fake luxury item.

Outstanding hotel! Amazing staff, nothing too much trouble. Excellent accommodation in perfect location in the old town. We were there for the tulips and bulb fields and the hotel concierge arranged a great tour for us. By chance we were there on Kings Day, what a celebration! Loud music, everyone dressed in orange lots of beer. All good natured.

This is our second stay at the Sofitel Legend The Grand in Amsterdam - this time during the Christmas season as part of a trip trip that included Haarlem, Tallinn, and Riga (@wolfestreettravel on Instagram and wolfestreettravel.com). The location is outstanding and the hotel fit, finish, and service earned the five stars. We would say that getting to the spa / sauna / pool was really byzantine and complicated, almost requiring secret passageways and a back set of servant stairs and elevator.

A beautiful castle like hotel. Superb central location. Very clean and staff is helpful and very friendly. I highly recommend it. We were there for 5 nights and enjoyed our stay. Cute garden is the middle of it where you can enjoy drinks on a sunny day. Their breakfast is delicious and very generous.

Sofitel Legend The Grand is located in a beautiful building with a great history, right in the famous canal district in Amsterdam. It's a beautiful hotel, offering all luxury and comfort that can be expected from a five star hotel. Normally we never have dinner in hotels, but this time we made an exception to try out restaurant Bridges where we had a truly memorable dinner with fantastic wines. We sincerely loved the place and their staff is so attentive and kind.

We wish to thank you for taking the time to write this amazing review. It is very rewarding to read such a positive feedback regarding your most recent stay at Sofitel Legend The Grand Amsterdam.
