I stay at Novotel Canary wharf a few times a month and it has become my favorite hotel because it is comfortable, it is clean and quiet, has full facilities and most of all, has a stable staff that get to know their guests and make them feel at home. Top on my list of staff is Rado, who is always there when I check in and treats me like family and makes the experience much more personal and authentic. Rado has made a difference .

My mum & I have stayed at the Novotel in Canary Wharf for the last few years for the C2C festival at the O2. Never had any problems, staff are friendly, breakfast is excellent with fabulous views over London. This year we came as a family with my 10 month old baby. I want to say a huge thank you to the hotel staff, they made travelling with a baby so easy. The staff in the restaurant were so friendly and couldn’t be more helpful, keeping our baby entertained at breakfast and making sure we were all able to sit together. (He doesn’t normally smile for strangers but he did for the staff!) Looking forward to our next visit.

Recently stayed for 3 nights in one of the suites on the 8th floor, and can honestly say this was the best hotel I've stayed in. Our first interaction was with Rachael on reception, who was friendly, welcoming and efficient. Our suite wasn't ready as we had arrived early, but she took our luggage and gave some advice on the local area whilst we waited for the check in time. On our return, we were greeted by the amazing Rado, who is an absolute asset to the hotel. He checked us in, gave us 2 complimentary drinks for the bar on the top floor and remembered our named throughout the stay and genuinely took an interest in ensuring everything was perfect. On the first 2 morning we had breakfast on the 38th floor, which has stunning views across the Thames. The staff were just as friendly and attentive as Rachael and Rado, and the choice and quality was impressive. The pastries were a favourite! On the final morning we decided to treat ourselves to room service and this arrived beautifully presented and with a generous selection of both the hot breakfast and continental options. The suite itself was perfect. A really decent size with an outdoor area and the option to divide the bedroom and living area was a bonus. Housekeeping clearly take pride in their work as everywhere was spotless, and they cleaned and restocked the supplies daily. The hotel is in a great location, just a couple of minutes walk from the nearest DLR station, or around 7 minutes to Canary Wharf tube station. We had a trip to Greenwich on one of the days, and would recommend taking the Uber Boat, the pier is around a 10 minute walk away and the boats are regular. It was difficult to leave as we had such as amazing time, but will be sure to return!

Theft from room while we were out

Two rings were stolen from our room in this hotel while we were out in London. The staff insisted that nothing was stolen, and couldn't have been less helpful or sympathetic. In follow-up emails the hotel stated that they knew who had been in the room, and that they didn't steal anything.

Thank you for your review. I am so sad that these items have gone missing and even sadder that your feedback says that we have not been helpful or sympathetic. Myself and my Operations Manager have exchanged numerous e-mails with you over the last week and we had arranged to speak further next week. As I have advised in my e-mail to you last night we have done a vigorous investigation which I have explained to you and the numerous security measures we have in place in my hotel. We do have safes in all of our bedrooms to place any items that you wish for safe keeping. There are numerous reasons as to how the rings have gone missing which we also explored. I do wish we could have found them and we have been extremely vigilant with regards to trying to find them. I am available as discussed last night to speaking with you further about the alleged allegation of theft in my hotel and as also mentioned in my numerous e-mails to you we are available to discuss this with the police also and share all of our findings with them Kind regards Jacqui McMillan - General Manager

Novotel has thieves on their staff and they don't care

Any positive impressions that I had of this hotel we're obliterated when their staff went into our room and stole my wedding and engagement ring. The hotel has footage of the person entering our room (against our wishes, we previously stated to housekeeping staff/thieves that we did not need our room serviced) but they refuse to take action against their criminal staff member. They would not even call the police when we brought it to their attention, even though this apparently "has never happened before". We were promised a phone call from reception the following morning as soon as the relevant manager arrived. We received no call. We had to approach the staff in reception again. They did not care one bit that a criminal on their staff had entered our locked room, gone through my personal belongings and had taken the only two things of any value (monetarily, but primarily of sentimental value). I am heartbroken. I made my wedding ring myself, it is irreplaceable. Novotel and their disgraceful staff should be utterly ashamed of themselves.

We have been in touch with you on numerous times this week and last week, the most recent one last night when I expressed my sadness that we had not located the rings that were in the room and arranged to have a call next week once you both had spoken to the police further We cannot call the police on behalf of you which my Operations Manager did advise you. This has to be done by you and both myself and my Operations Manager assured you that we would of course welcome this and provide them with all of the information we have collated during our vigorous investigation. We care very much about this incident and have expressed sympathy numerous times on the e-mail correspondence between ourselves and you both and I am sad that you think we did not care. As advised on my last e-mail last night I am available at any time that you wish to discuss this further, offered my personal phone number, speak with the police as soon as they get in contact with me and there is nothing I want more than to be able to call you to let you know we have found them.
