Stay in basel and get a basel card

We stayed here for 1 night as visiting basel as we were told it's cheaper to stay in France but when you add up the cost of travel it doesn't add up. My advise stay in basel and get a basel card as if you stay in a basel city hotel you get a basel card which gives you free travel on trams and buses and discount to museums We paid 50 pounds to stay here 1 night on a Saturday night but had we payed 100 pounds to stay at hotel in basel we would of been around £20 quid better off as we used trams busses and visited museums. Hotel is literally 1 minutes walk from the border of France and Switzerland can't miss it. The hotel is very basic small double bed quite hard but fine and little kitchen in same room. Bathroom was ok but like the room needs updating. Shower was fine pressure ok and water was hot. Never ate at breakfast so couldn't comment. Pool at hotel but never used so again can't comment. Check in wasn't great as door to place is locked so had to ring intercom for ages to get in.. The receptionist in the morning was helpful and polite. We got a coffee and a pastry from coffee shop nearly opposite the hotel. We got a cab from hotel for 17 euro to three countries bridge which we crossed from France into Germany then across another bridge back into Switzerland.

Thank you to Mehdi and Egna who were working at the Adagio on 18th October. My wife unexpectedly needed to go to hospital, and we were very worried. Mehdi and Egna were absolutely brilliant, talking to the hospital / doctors / taxis and managing a very confusing and stressful situation in order to get us there quickly and safely. Thank you so much for all your help. Please make sure they receive our thanks! Apart from that, the hotel was very nice, with a decent breakfast and is conveniently located for getting into Basel.

The property is very well located for those wanting to visit Basel. The tram is only a 5 min walk away. Rooms are clean and the staff is excellent and very helpful. The only drawback is that there is no air conditioning in the rooms so would not go to stay here in summer as it gets quite warm inside the rooms. It lost a star in the rating because of this. The breakfast they serve is very nice and just right.

We stayed here for seven nights In mid-May. The check in was quick and the receptionist was very helpful. I have booked a superior studio room. It is tiny and has the feel of a bedroom, that has had a very small cooking space added to it. Most people who stay here are only here for a night, and probably do not cook. We have been here for a week and with a bit of juggling have been able to cook our evening meals in the room.

The room was very warm and thankfully being in the corner the doors opening onto the balcony provided fresh air. In the summer there is a fan for if it gets too hot, as there is no air conditioning.

The Aparthotel is being run as if you are renting an apartment, rather than being an apartment in a hotel. The means that they can stop cleaning the room every day. If you want daily cleaning or perhaps your sheets to be changed, it costs extra. They can also charge extra if you do not clean your kitchen before you leave. The sink has no draining board, so everything has to be dried up with a clothe immediately (not very hygienic). The cooking space is okay, but the pans provided are all too big for its small surface. This space really hasn’t been designed with meal cooking in mind. They have provided a kettle and a pod coffee maker, however both have short leads and take up all; of the counter space between the sink and the hob. If you do not clean the kitchen before you check out you will be charged 25 euros. 
You can pay for breakfast, but its expensive so we did not have breakfast in the hotel Instead using the artisan bread shop across the road. I have stayed in Accor hotels all over France, England and even in Japan. This Aparthotel in Saint-Louis is not to their standard. I really am not used to having to pay to park and an at 10€ a day, that is 70€. The location of this hotel is very close to the Swiss border and there are local buses to take you into Basel (Bale). Sadly for us this was a very expensive place to stay for a week, especially when you add the cost of parking.

I have stayed at Apart Adagio in St Louis 4 times. I have thoroughly enjoyed my stay each time. They have everything I need to make my stay comfortable and easy. Staff are very helpful and friendly. The breakfast is perfect and the staff absolutely lovely. As well, the rates are reasonable. Public transport is close. I ❤️ Apart Adagio
