A good stay.

This was our Lads' 19th annual trip. Our intention is to visit a different country each year. Sadly our numbers diminish with the passing years so only four of us this year. One of our requirements is rooms with twin beds - the Mercure was perfect in this regard. Also we weren't troubled by building noise although it was the weekend so that could be why. But I had requested quiet rooms if possible. Rooms were perfect although a bit warm for sleeping, even although the temperature outside was cool. Staff were great, very friendly & helpful. My only gripe was breakfast. This wasn't as good as my recent stays at Novotel & Ibis hotels. Mainly the hot dishes which weren't't regularly refreshed meaning that they dried out and looked very unappetising. There were plenty of staff clearing tables but none of them seemed to have any responsibility for making sure the hot dishes were up to scratch. Also there wasn't much for vegetarians or vegans in the way of hot dishes. I did appreciate pizza being available. Otherwise if was a very good stay.

Terrible stay! Awful experience!

I am extremely disappointed with my recent stay at Mercure hotel. Not only did they mishandle my reservation, but they also subjected my wife and children to an unacceptable wait at the front desk, providing inadequate explanations for the delay. Additionally, the exorbitant parking fee I paid was unjustifiable considering the deplorable condition of the parking area, which was under construction and filled with equipment, making it extremely challenging to park and exit safely. This experience has tarnished my impression of Mercure in Budapest, and I will not be recommending it to anyone.

A big thank you for my perfect stay. I had a wonderful room and the service was also excellent. I really liked the Winestone restaurant, which offers a wide variety of local and international dishes. The cleanliness in the room and bathroom was exceptionel.

Building works

I have stayed at this hotel before so obvious was happy with it. But this time there was a problem with builders starting work at 7am outside your window. The answer would have been to shut the Windows and turn on the air conditioning but the air conditioning is turned off to the rooms. The staff were helpful and did move us to quieter rooms which were not as bad though you could still hear the noise but it is difficult to recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to sleep beyond 7am.

This is a hotel that prioritises profit over customer comfort and sleep. In warm weather the rooms on the top floors are unbearably hot. The company has chosen to not allow the air conditioning to work until they decide it is summer. It was 22 degrees today. Our whole weekend has been ruined by lack of sleep. Staff will flit between telling you it is broken or the truth- management won’t allow it. If you ask for a fan, they will tell you they will send one- it doesn’t arrive. You can only open the windows crack - you then have to contend with real noise from industrial bins being emptied at around 5:30 am - with the windows closed you may be able to sleep through this. Dreadful.
