Stayed for 2 nights. Comfortable bed and pillows, clean and tidy. Spacious room. Air conditioning worked perfect. Room had blackout curtains (100% blackout). Friendly reception and housekeeping staff. Hotel is near Nervion Metro so easy to visit places. About 1km walk from Seville main station. Shopping centre is below the hotel.

Novotel Seville, Spain review. It’s a large hotel with a relaxed vibe. We had a Superior Room including breakfast. Room was quite large, had a sofa as well and a desk. Reasonable hanging space. Views are of suburbs so not special. Hotel was nice and quiet. Only issue is no power point in the bathroom. Breakfast is a buffet with everything and as we were there over Easter it was very busy but no problems getting a table and food regularly replenished. This became a restaurant at night. In the lobby is a bar and lounge area. Location. It looks like it’s in the suburbs but it’s actually next door to Seville FC home Ground, a shopping complex, bus stop at the front door and metro is 5 minutes walk. The metro is 3 stops to the station near the Cathedral. Perfect. Parking. Easy access underneath as a sub part of the shopping complex. For Europe really easy and spacious. All up. Very comfortable, easy, good location, self sufficient.

Excellent modern hotel

The Novotel Seville turned out to be a pleasant place to stay. Staff are friendly. My room was fine. It had all the usual features you’d expect in an upper midrange hotel including a minibar and a safe. I appreciated the fact that the window opened. Hotel breakfasts were excellent (although, on one of the days I was there, the breakfast room was overwhelmed with tour groups). The only semi-serious reproach one could make is that there isn’t anything in the hotel to remind guests that they’re in Seville. The hotel is definitely a modern establishment. The hotel is an easy 1.2 km walk from the Santa Justa train station. Along the way, one passes a full-service Mercadona supermarket, a Corte Inglés department store (with a basement supermarket), and a shopping mall (with a basement Carrefour Express). The hotel’s about 2 km from the tourist sites of the Casco Antiguo. This is a perfectly enjoyable walk. An alternative route is via the Metro, which has a stop a (long) block from the hotel. One of these months (or years), there will also be a tram stop even closer to the hotel.

Essential flaw

During the years I have spend many nights in this hotel. Because of my Accor All Gold loyalty status, I always get a nice upgrade to a deluxe room with a free minibar. I have always been very satisfied with the hotel, the staff and the location. The reason for a lower rating now is that for a second day in a row their Internet is down. Now I can understand if this happens for an hour or even a couple of hours, but then you will get it fixed. Two days in a four star hotel without Internet is for a business traveller unacceptable. Yesterday and today I had to put my roaming on and use expensive 4G data, resulting in €60 to €70 a day in roaming charges, almost doubling the room rate for my company. For touristic purposes working Internet is nice to have, but for business travellers it is a "must have". Failure to provide that, is an essential flaw that will make me look for an alternative hotel.
