I only stayed one night but was welcomed by Debbie and Corrina when I arrived with such a friendly welcome. I liked that they point to the room number on the room key holder because I was a single female traveller rather than announce in reception what room I was staying in. I didn’t stay for breakfast and left early the following day.

A basic hotel at a very good price. The bed was comfortable and the hotel was quiet at night. The bar had a very poor selection of drinks and it and the restaurant were empty and soul less. However there is a friendly pub nextdoor with an excellent menu. It also does a full breakfast at almost half the price of the hotel

Stayed a night here a few weeks ago on my trip down to Cornwall. All was going well untill I was woken up around 1AM by fellow guests. Strong smell of weed in the hotel and reception staff didn't seem very bothered after mentioning. Get the impression this hotel is putting up homeless. Would not stay here again.

I have no doubt, that like myself, you will receive the finest, most wonderful, exceedingly friendly, the utmost professional, exceptional efficient customer service and hospitality from the team at the Ibis Rotherham East, the whole team are just brilliant but special mention has to be made to Deborah, Teha and Caroline who went that extra mile to make my stay the best that it could be. The welcome might be superb however that cannot be said for the rest of the hotel which is very tired in terms of décor and ambience which are dated and worn out. The main communal area incorporating the reception desk together with the bar and restaurant is a space void of any design and not a welcoming space. However, the biggest disappointment with this hotel was the rooms, these spaces are dated, tired and worn out which have obviously not received any investment for decades and that is definitely evident now, an example of this is the televisions which are a disgrace, the decoration state of the room appalling especially in the bathrooms, unfortunately, they are not a comfortable and nice place to reside, unlike other Ibis Hotels that I have stayed in. Another major issue was noise from external and internal sources; the hotel is located on one side by the M18 motorway and on the other by a 2/7 drive-thru McDonald's which are noisy throughout the day and night, the hotel could do more to stop this noise aggravating guests. The owners could also do more to control the internal noise issues by fixing soft door closures on the room and corridor doors which bang shut constantly, and reverberate throughout the hotel waking guests from sleep; the room walls are also very thin with guests able to hear their neighbouring room occupants every action including snoring and televisions. The hotel is well located for those with a car, the bus stop on the road adjacent to the hotel has regular bus connections to Doncaster, Rotherham, Meadowhall and Sheffield.

Good budget hotel, appalling car parking control.

The hotel is a good budget hotel, staff are very helpful. Accommodation is comfortable & clean. You must ensure that you enter your car details in their system & probably take pictures of the registration. The hotel stay itself was good but after booking out we have been harassed & threatened with prosecution over illegal parking by Civil Enforcement Ltd. We booked in on a thursday, entered car details & length of stay (4 days) to book out on Sunday as advised by the helpful receptionist. So how incompetent is their automatic parking recognition system & staff when they issue a parking control notice /fine for a period of a few hours on the Friday. Perhaps they would be better using AI.
