Lovely hotel, well run, lovely breakfast and very clean. Rooms were cleaned everyday, but I'm not sure they knew how many of us were staying as I always had to ask for towels, but this very very quickly sorted. Fridge in room was brilliant. Lovely gardens with pool and play equipment for children

Lovely emplacement, accessible by public transport, but poor servicing at the desk on arrival, mattress see 4 urself, pillows not comfortable....mosquitoes stains on the walls ceiling blinds.........

Hotel let down by poor housekeeping

I wish I could give this hotel a higher rating but the standard of housekeeping lets it down. We visit family in Vlaardingen regularly and have been using the Novotel for a few years. We asked for a room with walk in shower but were given one with a shower over the bath and had to go back to reception to change rooms. On 2 days no coffee sachets were left and nobody in reception or in the bar could help. Despite hanging our towels up every day we ended up with 7 bath towels by the end of our stay! We arrived back at 11pm on Saturday night to find the bed hadn't been made up. I used to put up with poor housekeeping at the Campanile as it was cheap and cheerful but this hotel is over £100 a night plus £10 a day parking. We ate in the restaurant the first night - the waitress might have mentioned to my husband that his burger came with fries when he ordered a plate of loaded fries, which was enormous, and would easily have fed us both. I had also ordered them with my salad! Needless to say a lot were wasted. When we queried some of the above at check out the lady told us we could have asked for coffee - we did! and that beds didn't get made every day.. I will be looking at other hotels or an Airbnb (where I'm happy to bring my own coffee and make my own bed!) on our next visit!

Who pays €24 per person for breakfast at a hotel which otherwise doesn't seem to care about your presence as a guest? No one in the reception looks up when you enter the lobby, let alone smile and say hello... :-/ During our two-night stay, our grown-up sons never received bed-sheets, although they requested them at the reception. Their room was only halfway made up, and there was neither shampoo nor body shampoo in the shower. One of two lamps by our mirror had gone out, but was never replaced. The rooms are humid, and fungus has started spreading in the window sill. €24 for breakfast in a place like this? I think not!

Worst Novotel we have ever been! One day the beds and the room haven't been done. One night after showering we realized that the hairdryer was broken. We asked at the reception for another hairdryer, and the lady at te reception told us she would bring it in our room in five minutes. She never showed up while we where waiting to dry our hair at 11 pm... The morning after we asked another lady at the reception to fix the problem with the hairdryer. While coming back in the room at night, nothing was fixed and no working hairdryer around... We asked again at the reception. This time a guy working at the reception told us he would look for a hairdryer, he calls us back telling us he could fix the problem only the day after. We left the hotel before. Stairs and other public spaces in the hotel were dirty. It seems they have big problems in this hotel.
