Desperately disappointed with Ibsis. Do not recommend

We booked on line deliberately requesting free parking. A price of £99 came up. Once it was confirmed the total cost was £140 with £41 added as a service rate! No free parking, awful hotel with cramped reception area and bar. We were given room 301. I have a disability - there was no lift and the stairs are quite hazardous with poor handrails. Pokey little room with dirty looking shower floor and threadbare towels. The person at reception said the cost had nothing to do with them. He was very sarcastic and not sympathetic at all. Will never stay at Ibsis again. Locality is only positive

Decided to go the night before rather than face a 5.30 start with the Rennes Rocade in the rush hour. Ideally situated BUT MIND YOUR HEAD! The bunk bed over the double bed caught three out of a group of four!

We arrived late at night and found the hotel easily accessible on foot from the ferry. About a 10 minute walk. Check-in was simple and we were soon in our 3rd floor (top floor) room. No kettle or water in the bedroom however in reception, you could make your own drinks to take up to your room. Water was also available. Small bar area in reception. Decent, powerful shower with shower gel provided. Room was laid out well, with a view of the walled city across the docks in the distance. No aircon in bedroom so needed to have window open so road noise did impact at times. Did notice a small fan in the room but we didn’t need it. Breakfast was plentiful & usual continental fayre which we enjoyed. Although on this occasion we were on foot, we did have a look around the garage/underground parking area for research purposes for a future visit. Only comment we would make, is that the entrance/exit did not have much signage to stop parking directly infront of the doorway so would suggest that the hotel (if possible) put a ‘no parking’ grid on the ground to deter people from blocking the doorway. Ideal hotel for a visit to St Malo or overnight stop to/from the ferry.

I’ve stayed in many Ibis and Ibis Styles across France. This simply doesn’t match up to the usual standard. The room was BOILING and I had to choose between being so unbearably hot that I couldn’t sleep , and opening the window wide , with the curtain back , which meant 2 enormous flood lights which light a car park at the rear (and which is nothing to do with the hotel) filled my room with intense light - it was like trying to sleep under a dentist’s spotlight. The double bed I slept on was parting in the middle so I could only use half of it. I managed about 45 minutes of sleep from 10pm - 6am in what was a completely awful night. The worst I’ve ever had in any hotel. The hotel interior itself is depressing, the staff were pretty disinterested - three faces stared back at me as I asked if I could check in. No one wanted to have to do it. I cannot believe I paid £270 for a room - sadly I did I did this on arrival. Complete rip off and dreadful experience , would stay anywhere else to avoid returning here.

We are not used to receive such comments about our hotel and especially our staff, nor about the quality of sleep of our costumers. This is your statement and I really wish I received it directly rather than via that plateform so I could have done something about your feeling of having been ripped off, this is indeed not a feeling we wishi to our costumers. Excellent friendly service in a great location. Many thanks Benjamin for the early coffees before breakfast!!! Room was great, clean and tidy. Breakfast service was also first rate. Nothing was too much trouble - highly recommended.
