Nice hotel for two nights

We had a nice two night stay here. The bathroom set up is fine for a couple but the shower situation wouldn't be good for two friends or two people who are not a couple. There isn't much privacy in that part of the bathroom. The shower itself was fantastic with great water pressure and a rainfall shower head. The bathroom sink/vanity was nice and spacious. The only thing that was a bit strange is that we came back to the room around 5 pm and housekeeping never came. Apparently you have to put a sign out if you want them to clean your room, or at least clean it "early." I had also called reception to ask if they had a more firm pillow and they never called me back.

We stayed at this property for two nights. The rooms are very nice, clean and spacious. Set up of shower partway in the bedroom is strange but didn’t really bother us. This probably wouldn’t be appropriate for two friends travelling together. The bed was extremely comfortable - sheets and pillows great. Amenities such as the shampoo body lotion etc were of good quality. Nice turndown service with a chocolate and slippers left at the bedside. Bose system for attaching your device is provided. Great coffee maker and supply of teas. Nice to have a mini fridge with complimentary bottled water. The location is good. Very easy walk to the main part of Luxembourg Old Town within 15 minutes. Some nice restaurants in the area including Cyrano which we would recommend. Parking is at an extra fee. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Even loaned us an umbrella for the day.

Superb experience at this hotel. Very clean room, comfortable bed, good sized shower and all the facilities you'd want like shower gel, shampoo, conditioner and slippers, fluffy towels. Nepresso machine which was great. Bit strange that toilet was in separate room on its own but I've read that's a common thing in some places in Europe. Shower was also in middle of room, as bathroom not closed off so could be a bit uncomfortable if sharing with a friend or something but as solo it didn't matter to me! Loved how big it was and powerful shower, good pressure. Room was a very nice size, bigger than I expected from the location. Staff were superb, fantastic service. I was late checking in because my flight was cancelled and I think they felt sorry for me and upgraded my room to have a city view, which was so nice and the view was sensational. Breakfast was great, I just had the continental things like Yoghurt, pastries, etc but there were eggs, sausages, Mushrooms to get too. Sometimes it took a while to get a coffee as staff were busy at times but that can't be helped. Bar was magic with fantastic views and again too service. Loved my stay at the hotel and would definitely recommend and would again if went back to Luxembourg City. Great place and best view from whole city.

What a great hotel. Bus stops from the airport right outside the hotel and transport is free. Great views from the top floor bar and dinning room. So much choice for breakfast you won’t go hungry Fabulous rooms with a great shower. 10min walk to the main train station and about the same into the old town

Don't even think about staying anywhere else in Luxembourg City!

It was an impromptu stop on our way from Warsaw to Paris. We (my two young kids and I) flew in early on July 20 and planned to spend a day in Luxembourg before taking a train to Paris the next morning. When we arrived at the hotel around 10 am, we were hoping to be able to leave our luggage before we could check in and go for an exploratory walk. However, it turned out I made a mistake when booking the room and reserved a room at a DIFFERENT Sofitel, quite outside the city. You cannot imagine how upset at myself I was. But here comes Jessica, the front desk hero - since I had made the reservation through the hotel website, she was able to call the other hotel and transfer the booking to her Sofitel; she also gave us an upgrade and was able to check us in immediately. She will forever be remembered as the hospitality clerk who saves your day, and with the most welcoming smile and grace! We proceeded to have the most memorable and wonderful day in Luxembourg, visiting restaurants and sites recommended by the hotel concierge (and I'm sorry I don't remember his name but he was lovely and very informative). We closed the day at the top floor bar with the view of the city at sunset and delicious treats. Amidst the summer full of travel, numerous flights, train trips, and hotel stays, this particular place will be always a treasured memory thanks to the extraordinary staff of Sofitel Grand Ducal and the beauty of the city.
