The hotel itself is like most airport hotels: anonymous, efficient, pricey, and a short 10-minute drive from the airport. We slept well and enjoyed the spacious bathroom the next morning. Here are some tried-and-true tips on transportation, coffee, food, and exercise if you're staying at Ibis: 1) You can take an Uber from the airport to the hotel (and vice versa) for under 15 euros. 2) You can get great coffee, bread, and pastries at Café Rodilla just across from the hotel entrance. 3) You'll eat and drink really well at Cerveceria al Tran Tran, less than 500 meters from the hotel. 4) You can walk or jog to Parque Juan Carlos less than 2 km from the hotel - here you can exercise, see fine sculptures, and mingle with the locals and their dogs. The area itself - Barajas - is actually much better than you might think. In the evening, it comes alive and offers many cafes, restaurants, and taverns.

Our hotel is located in an urban area , very close to the airport , but surrounded by a good short of shops, restaurants and places to walk . Those guests that don't want to go to the city centre are not 'imprisoned' at the hotel. Thanks' for sharing Have a great day

Reception from check in to check out was very warm, very helpful and friendly. Had this little scary experience at the buffet breakfast. I non intentionally placed croissants in the toaster and thought they woulf fit, but alas the croissants were on fire. i was very apologetic to the lady waitress in white blouse and black pants and she told me its okay. she had to call the head of the kitchen i think lady in red and they managed to control the situation calmly. good thing it did not cause too much commotion. The following morning, they re arranged the toaster and placed the croissants away from it! LOL. They really know their business. Will definitely visit this hotel again!

Dear GlobeTroting801585: I hope you are doing fine . I really appreciate your great sense of humour and even more early in the morning. Our 'normal toaster`' were out of service and we used 'Big Brother'. It's really powerful and likes to burn butter croissants. A few years ago , I had the same experience in a hotel in Granada ,when my wife decided to toast some croissants in a 'Big Brother' .... flames . Wen this toaster is on service , we use to place an advise saying JUST BREAD but we forget to do it . Sorry for this scary experience. I arrived at T4 in Madrid and called for the shuttle bus, only to be informed there are no shuttle buses. I took a taxi and it costs €20.00 for a 10 min drive to the hotel. It’s not that close as T4 is far away from the other terminals. Take that into consideration when you book your hotel. Hotel itself was modern and nicely decorated. The staff were nice and check in was easy. They have a lounge area where people can hang out. Rooms were good and surprisingly spacious, as was the bathroom. There are tons of rooms here and the room layout was good. Bed and pillows were great. Shower was also great. No amenities here (kettle or fridge), lotions, etc. only shampoos and soap. Area has a few good restaurants around and lots of police patrolling around. A huge supermarket beside the property. Taxi back to T4 €9.00. I liked the property. Biggest disappointment was no shuttle as advertised. That should be removed from any of its marketing materials.

Dear sailorann I hope you are doing fine. I really appreciate your comments after your stay with us. We are very closed to the airport ; The metro stop is located at 10 minutes walking from the hotel and we also have a bus stop at less than 3 minutes walking . The shuttle service finished in March 2020 and since that dates all the main sites ; accor, booking, expedia etc have this info available for our guest. It has been removed more than 3 years ago. If you found something , please let me know, it'll be really helpful. Thanks' again and have a great day

Overall good hotel let down by poor check-out experience.

Check-in efficient and room modern and clean. Room was warm and stuffy at night, and road noise with window open at night (air conditioning had been turned off for the season). Bed comfortable and excellent shower. Good breakfast with nice array of continental breakfast items. Overall experience let down by check out. Two people on check-out: one serving another client; the other took a delivery rather than helping me (in fact she made a particular effort to ignore me). Would have been 4 stars if it hadn't been for this.

We stayed here one night in March 2023 and selected it for convenience to the airport for an early departure. It was being renovated while we were there. We stayed in one of the renovated rooms and found it comfortable. The hotel is in a nice area and we enjoyed walking in the area. There are restaurants close by, but we chose to eat at the hotel bar and had a pleasant meal. The breakfast buffet was also nice. The cab stand is just outside and it was a quick and inexpensive cab ride to the airport.
