Smell and staff attitude.

Hotel good location. Reception staff good . Bar staff very poor and rude to customers and couldn’t get me a receipt for drinks ordered and lied 🤥 about giving me a receipt in morning on leaving the hotel. Made a complaint about room smelling of urine room 321 , just didn’t care attitude. Room was good ( apart from urine smell.

Overall, the hotel itself is nice. Rooms were spacious, clean and simple but all you need really. Downfall was that we weren’t made aware that this hotel was unfortunately being used for the homeless and others in need. No review prior to booking had any comments made about this situation so I believe it’s only come into action this year. Being woken up at early hours of the morning to shouting along the corridor, not what you expect and should have been managed accordingly not that we heard as it went on for around an hour. I understand you get what you pay for and for 1 night away it wasn’t a bad price but the overall first impression of the hotel wasn’t the greatest. Not that I’m 100% against helping the homeless and those in need but I would’ve reconsidered where I was booking as it’s not something you expect when booking a room in a hotel for paying customers.

Rooms are fine with everthing you need when away from home. Hotel seems to be used by unfortunate homeless families on a tempory basis which is havoc. Like a kindergarten in reception area. Food menu is very basic with lots of items sold out. Breakfast is a free for all with the homeless famules taking lots of food back to the rooms. Feel sorry for them but this is a hotel that I paid good money to stay at !!

Handy for city centre.

Located a short walk from the city centre and close to the train station. Clean, quiet and comfortable. Staff friendly and helpful, happy to provide extra pillows, etc. Breakfasts were good, with plenty of choice and a nice fresh fruit salad.

I went for a film festival over the weekend

Great value, lovely, friendly and helpful staff. My room was clean and comfortable and the hotel is ideally situated for access to the centre of the city and the railway station . There are some very good restaurants nearby and a couple of old fashioned Pubs serving real ale. If I return to Leicester, I will book into the Ibis again.
