The worst Mercure ever?

We often stay in Mercure Hotels because we have found them uniformly pretty good and sometimes very good, such as the one in Dijon. This is our first dud. OK it's in Paris, but the rooms are very small with a rickety sliding glass bathroom door and very little room to put anything. I couldn't find anywhere wide enough for a laptop. The air-conditioning makes a noise but doesn't work. The Wi-Fi says the signal is strong but also doesn't work. The room was grubby, and you can hear noises from adjacent rooms. It's convenient for the Palais, but otherwise it's well below the standard expected of a Mercure. Come on Accor, put it out of it's misery and turn it into a student residence or something.

My partner and I stayed here for two nights this weekend as we were attending the opera on Saturday night at Versailles Palace. Our room was clean and comfortable, but small. The hotel was noisy because of guests slamming hotel doors, otherwise it was in a quiet location. We paid extra for breakfast but felt it wasn’t value for money. However we would still recommend the hotel for a short stay.

One of the better Mercure hotels but still not the best. Good location, quiet surroundings. Friendly staff and modern designs. Room was small without much room to navigate. The sliding door to the bathroom was wobbly and the shower head kept sliding down. Also, why were there blond hair (not ours) between the sheets? Unfortunately the walls and doors are paper thin. You can hear doors banging and conversations.

The location of the hotel is quite good and it was easy to find a parking spot close by. The general conditions of the hotel are good, but the rooms are quite small for the cost of one night, specially the bathroom. The wi-fi connection can be improved.

Choose wisely in the gardens

Visited the chateau with a guided tour. That was great. Do that for the stories. Went to the garden, also great. But: do not spend your money on the “petit train”. Total waste, drives outside the park on terrible roads. We should have waited for a cart. My advise is: rent a cart. Rate: chateau 5. Gardens 4. “Petit train” 0

Happy to see that I had a nice visit of Chateau de Versailles. Sorry for your bad experience with the train. And what about our hotel Mercure Versailles ? Best regards, Pierre
