Great Location, but lots of hiccups

The location to the Boston Marathon was excellent. The room was quiet and had plenty of space. The staff in the restaurant were excellent - very friendly and attentive. However, we had a few hiccups during our stay. The rollaway bed was a challenge. I was told at check-in that it was in the room, but it was not. After calling about it, they said it would be sent up "right away". Four hours later, it had still not arrived. I was told that there would be a light breakfast available for runners near the lobby on marathon morning. When I went downstairs, no one knew what I was talking about and I had to quickly find a "Plan B", which is not ideal on marathon morning when there are very specific time constraints. One of the reasons we chose the hotel & room was for the bathtub as I needed it for pre and post marathon soaking. The drain plug in the tub did not seal correctly. So, the water was always leaking and not holding water. The shower was also either in need of maintenance or better cleaning. It was pretty yucky looking. Given the price of the room and the standards that Fairmont usually has, it was disappointing.

Beautiful hotel and lovely staff! Hakim the bellman and the front reception staff were very helpful and gracious. The restaurant hostess was able to accommodate me without a reservation and on a very busy night. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

I was there for a 2-day confernce. I found the staff to be generously helpful. Everyone greeted me and offered help. The building is gorgeous and very clean. The bathroom was well appointed and the bed and bedding were very comfortable.

Spacious room, comfy beds and pillows, and friendly staff. Love the water refill stations with the ice dispensers. Would definitely come back for another stay.
