Very Disappointing

Unfortunately the hotel was reserved and paid for on check-in.I’m embarrassed to say we paid four times the price of Booking.com. We had a room on the eleventh floor. The room smelt of damp and had mould in corner of the wall/ceiling. The window had something splashed across it on the outside. The bedside lamp looked like a fizzy drink of some kind had been opened and sprayed near it and was badly stained. The couple we went with also had issues, so we all went to complain and get the room changed. My wife has breathing issues and the damp is dangerous to her health. The receptionist stated that they have damp issues due to the room being high up and then proceeded to give us the room next door to our previous room on the eleventh floor 🤯. This room was satisfactory Bed was okay, wardrobe doors didn’t close, Air conditioning didn’t work to warm up the cold room and room desperately in need of re-decoration. On the plus side, bed was clean and the shower was good and the staff we met were very nice. Beware!! Breakfast is separate and cost £17.00per day, but it was on offer for £13 odd, for a basic buffet breakfast. Car parking was £14.00 a day. Back to Premier Inn for us.

Thank you Mecure for making our birthday weekend special. Kieran and Martin were great on reception made us feel very welcome. Young man on the rooftop bar Sunday day was great too!! Rooms clean, good size,quiet. Good view of the Mersey. Breakfast was good quality but had to wait for hot food to come out too long tbh. But to be fair it was a busy service. We will definitely stay here again!!

Worth staying if you can get a good deal

We got a very good deal with Travelzoo to stay here - good location which fitted in with our plans, warm and friendly staff, good room, a good experience which we would willingly repeat. Our deal included a free drink too as well as a buffet breakfast, which offered a wide choice

Great experience here, been here a few times - prices seem very reasonable compared to rest of city centre. Recently signed up for Accor membership and got a free room upgrade which was lovely. Enriqua was super helpful!

Signs to nowhere

Looking for a menu with a wider selection we left the bar and followed the signs to the restaurant on the same floor. It was empty, in darkness and we were subsequently told back at the bar, “Oh, that’s only the back room”. We were then told that the restaurant (one floor down) that should be open is actually closed due to a special event (which turned out to be a coach party), however subsequently we could indeed use the open-but-closed-tonight restaurant as the bar staff have spoken to the restaurant staff. Credit to the staff for making that effort. So downstairs we wandered only to establish that the menu was the same as in the bar – a single laminated sheet comprising mainly burgers and pizzas. Having seen the room service menu which included curries we were by now totally confused. However, the lady looking after us in the restaurant, Kes, explained all and drafted us a quick handwritten menu of all the options, including the separate menu the coach party were being offered. Full praise to the staff but the hotel signage and room info need a good overhaul. Breakfast was good, hot where it needed to be, and plentiful, and our room certainly gave us great views over the Mersey.
