Reception booking

I went to the reception to make a reservation for my family for one night for the next month. The receptionist said "hmmm its very expensive"... strange... usualy sellers want to sell, not the opposite. Then I said I want to proceed with the booking anyway and asked for the cancelation policy. The answer was: until 24h before its free to cancel". I gave all the details and suddenly she said "ohh I'm sorry but in fact you have to pay full ticket now" no reason was presented. It was stated something 5 minutes earlier. It appears to me that the receptionist did everything within reach to avoid the booking. Unpolity and unclear. Not recommended.

……for your buck! Which means that price and quality adds up. Easy to find with parking in the basement. Swift good service in the reception. Everything including the room is very clean. Great queen bed, big enough for one person. Nice size TV. Pretty sound prof on the 6th floor. Room 640 is quite isolated, so no slamming doors. No fridge no coffee facilities. Work desk. Small bar next to the reception. Fine breakfast with hot and cold choices. Great for business stay.

Well positioned for the underground and a 15 minute walk to the city centre, 15 minute walk from main station. Staff all good, room could to with a bit of an update but otherwise fine. Tip: Take the U1 to Olhsdorf, then change to S1 to the airport.

East 10-minute walk to the Hauptbahnhof and only a couple of minutes from the lake which was great for walking. The hotel is very good with everything that we needed including a good breakfast. Ertan at the desk was particularly helpful in giving us directions for catching public transport. Hotel clean and neat and everything worked. Laundomat only 10-minute walk away at Zimmerpforte just near St George's church. Please note that the laundromat closes at 6pm and is not open on public holidays. The hop-on-hop-off bus has a stop at the Hauptbahnhof and goes down the street that the hotel is in.

The hotel is sandwiched between a very major road and a building site at the back which is noisy. It is not far from the central railway station. Not a great walk - be careful particularly after dark. On a positive note the staff were helpful and friendly. The room was very clean. I find it difficult to understand why the staff could not get the the early morning wake up call working !!
