Great rooms in a great location with polite service

We booked a junior suite for our family. Staying for five days. It was pretty much perfect. Yes there are cheaper options but the Novotel was a calm air conditioned oasis in the craziness that can be Vietnam. The room and bathroom was lovely, the included club lounge had a decent happy hour on drinks. Would definitely stay again. The rooftop bar can only be accessed with a staff escort in the lift which is a little strange. But it offered great views and nice house music provided by a DJ in the evening. The only other tip I would offer is to skip the breakfast. Whilst there was a huge selection to choose from, all of the hot items were kept lukewarm each day and pretty unappealing. Luckily there’s a great banh mi place across the road (banh mi 362), just past the petrol station. We are there lots. There’s also a small but well stocked supermarket directly opposite the hotel.

This hotel was nice enough, its pretty modern so in good condition, the room was a good size and it was immaculately clean. The roof bar was very good, with excellent views over the city and the staff throughout the hotel were friendly and helpful, with excellent English. Our negatives were that it had a really corporate feel and seemed to be trying to please too many demographics, from business customers to families and everything in between. We were on holiday and visited several other hotels in Vietnam and Cambodia, all of which were characteristic of the country and city we were in but we honestly could've been anywhere in this hotel. I guess this is to be expected from a Novotel so we shouldn't have been surprised, it was fine in every other respect so don't be put off. Back to the positives we booked a trip to the Mekong Delta from their desk and it was excellent, the hotel is also well located for the War Museum and walking distance to restaurants and bars.

We stayed here for 2 nights to finish off our trip to Vietnam. The hotel is in a good location with everything you need. The restaurant and lounge were nice, with a good variety of food and drinks. However, the rooftop bar has a lot to be desired. Firstly, the music needs to be turned down - it’s a bar not a nightclub. Secondly, we were told cocktails were 2 for 1 between 10-11.30pm. But when we went to order we were told we had to order a drink each to get the second one for free? Doesn’t make sense. We just walked out and won’t be going back.

Affordable and convenient in heart of Ho Chi Minh City ~ District 3

✔️ Checking in was quick and easy. ✔️ Room was clean & comfortable. ✔️ Location was very convenient and close to some great restaurants. 🆗 Checking out took a while. ✔️ Rooftop bar was fantastic, cocktails were made to perfection!!! 🆗 Gym was ok, not many equipment ✔️ Swimming pool was good ✔️ Chill out area in lobby was good ✔️ If you like / enjoy walking, walking distance to Notre Dame Cathedral, it’s about 20-30min walk to Cho Ben Thanh markets 🆗 Peak hour traffic approximately 40-45 min Grab ride from the airport. ✔️ We booked 2 rooms, $142.86 AUD per night per room.

Hotel was clean, comfy and the staff were very friendly. Special thanks to Vu who sorted our transportation and gave us tips for trip to Mui Ne tomorrow. I would certainly recommend this hotel. Desrves a six star as Vu went the extra mile and provided service that was excellent.
