Hostel like rooms with bad drainage.

Check in staff were pleasant, not a bad location BUT the room was smelly. The shower is in the room behind a screen and the drains smelt. The sink was by the bed and the drains smelt. Carpets had not been hoovered or swept, I darent to pull back the duvet, we didn't stay the night! It felt more like a room at a hostel.

Very basic room is fair enough for the money, but better service would cost nothing

A very basic room, which is what you expect for the cheap price - but friendly service costs nothing and is missing here. The room door entry system was so temperamental that only a security guard with a special knack could fathom it out - waited behind a queue of guests all with the same problem. Had to buy a packet of crisps on a credit card because thinking you could pay with coins for such an item seems - based on the face of the receptionist - to make you a total weirdo. The breakfast offer is very limited and poor value for money.

The hotel is in a great location for eating out and drinking. Not far to train or bullring. Tidy big budget rooms and wonderful staff but a lot if noise from traffic and people coming back late. Good for a lively city break not a relaxing holiday

Vile hostel

Couldn’t wait to leave the next morning. To use the term hotel is not the right description. This is a hostel. The room was dingy, poorly decorated, unclean to the point where I saw human faeces on the toilet roll holder. Absolutely disgusting. Towels that I wouldn’t even touch let alone use with black marks on them. A bed that wasn’t made and no pillow. When I went to reception to ask for one I was told they’d look for one and if they had any it would be brought up to the room. The pillow never arrived. I will NEVER step foot in these hotel rooms again. I couldn’t sleep and wished the night away. Such poor standards and how are people leaving their human waste on fittings and I know it’s a terrible job, but the cleaner didn’t clean it up. If it was warmer. I’d have opted for sleeping in the car. The woman on reception was very friendly. That’s the only plus. My skin is still crawling.

Rated this a 2 star as I see it fitting for a 2 star hotel. Taking into consideration its a budget hotel, it's exactly what is expected. I just want to add my feelings and experience as honest as I can. Can't complain about the layout of the room, as you know what your getting, so that's fine. The cleanliness was concerning, as even as a budget hotel, there's no excuse for it being dirty. The bedding had hairs all over it, luckily I bought my own pillow slips as I always do anywhere I stay, otherwise I would have struggled to sleep in the bed. I slept on top on the bed as I didn't want to get in it. Thankfully, the room was very warm. The TV didn't work, the volume kept turning up loud and then quiet constantly on its own. I had a child with me therefore we did have some down time in the room at night, so it was annoying to not be able to watch anything for those last hours of the night before sleeping. The top bunk bed didn't have a bottom sheet on it, just a plastic mattress topper, which I would not make my child sleep on, luckily I only had 1 child so they could sleep in the double bed. There was very concerningly what looked like smeared human waste on the skirting board of the toilet near the door. I didn't want to inspect to confirm my suspicion and was too tired and just wanted to get the night over with without fuss, but it was although someone had defecated on the floor and the cleaners missed a bit. There were a lot of obvious drug addicts staying in the hotel, so it makes you wonder if before checking in, it was a drug den thats been given a wipe over before you stay in it. Breakfast was some squashed croissants and warm juice. A bit of cereal and toast. Lots of addicts walking about during breakfast. The reception is like a youth hostel, in the way it's decorated and how there's table football and bean bags about. Just gave a youth club vibe. The receptionists were nice however, and they arrange a taxi for you and its there in under a minute. There's no problem storing bags before and after check in. I would recommend this hotel for a 1 night stay, and ideal for collapsing drunk after a night out so that you don't see your surroundings clearly enough to care.
