Hotel is currently being renovated, which detracted from our experience. The main beds are good but the sofa beds are absolutely terrible and very uncomfortable. If travelling with kids go for two double beds rather than the sofa bed option. The hotel has a great location, but we felt it was overpriced. The interiors are quite old fashioned, but hopefully they are addressing this in their revamp. It's a nice hotel, but just not comparable to other hotels in the same price range that we stayed in during our trip.

I checked into the Sofitel in Rittenhouse Square for a business conference in the city on April 4th 2024. My room had a musty/mildew smell and within an hour my skin started itching all over. I figured I must be having some kind of an allergic reaction so I asked if I could switch rooms. The next room did not have a smell, but when I pulled back the pillows there was a large bed bug walking across it. I immediately brought the manager and receptionist to see it. The hotel refunded my money, but it was 8pm in the evening and I had to scramble to find a new hotel. The manager helped find me another hotel, but refused to pay for it despite the inconvenience and terrible condition of both rooms at the Sofitel.

My boyfriend and I wanted to treat ourselves to a little getaway for our anniversary and I must say, we will not be returning to the Sofitel in Rittenhouse. We were not aware when we booked there was a lot of construction going on at the hotel - the lobby was out of commission and there was a lot of noise. Hallways smelled of weed, very outdated rooms. The highlight was when I saw a woman urinating on the lobby floor. I informed the front desk and it didn't seem anything was done to mediate the situation. About a half hour later the pee was still on the floor and no security had come down to assist. For security and sanitary reasons -- this situation was a bit alarming. The next morning I saw the incident was not properly cleaned up. I am not sure what is going on with this location as Sofitel is typically a good brand.... but we will not be returning to the Philly location.

Sofitel? Never again!

My family and I opted for a weekend getaway to Philadelphia, selecting one of our preferred hotels within the Accor group, Sofitel. This marked our third stay within a six-week period, having previously enjoyed Fairmont in Tremblant and Sofitel in Montreal.Prior to our arrival, we reached out to the hotel to clarify details and expectations. Chris, who attended to our inquiries, displayed exceptional politeness and helpfulness, setting a positive tone for our visit. Upon arrival, the valet service efficiently managed our vehicle, although we were surprised to find the lobby area undergoing renovations. Directed to a temporary entrance down the street, the unattended side door lacked the welcoming ambiance one would expect from a somewhat luxury establishment. Navigating through a construction zone, we ascended short stairs and found ourselves in a makeshift check-in area, housed within a conference room.Despite Mohammad's courteous assistance in escorting us to our room and explaining the hotel amenities, we couldn't overlook the dated aspects of the property. From the worn hallways and elevators to the antiquated luxury one-bedroom suite, several areas lacked the expected sophistication. The bathroom, in particular, exhibited signs of age and functionality issues, including a faulty toilet mechanism(had to be jiggled every time and seats were not soft closing) and worn-out fixtures.Furthermore, we encountered safety concerns such as smoke detectors adorned with shower caps(how is this not a fire hazard!?), highlighting a lapse in attention to detail. Linens and sheets, visibly worn and bearing holes, detracted from the promised luxury experience. Our disappointment extended to the bar experience in Chez Collette , where limited cocktail options were prepared in the kitchen, they were served in unconventional glassware. Despite our efforts to enjoy complimentary coffee and pastries in the mornings, consistent shortages left us dissatisfied. However, the pinnacle of our dissatisfaction occurred during check-out. Despite timely request for our vehicle(11:49am), delays ensued, resulting in an extended wait exacerbated by unprofessional conduct from valet staff. Our car was parked in one piece (Thanks for that!) on the side street rather than in the empty drive-thru. Davis Nguyen discourteous demeanor and reprimanding attitude further soured our impression of the Sofitel Rittenhouse. In conclusion, our stay fell short of expectations, and we are unlikely to consider Sofitel for future accommodations.

Not what I expected, the hotel is under reconstruction so a lot of noise. You smell everything from other rooms and it smelled like weed most of the time. Towels were dirty for a room that was supposed to be checked. Kitchen and valet was awesome, front desk was horribly rude. If I could give cleanliness a 0 I would.
