Noisy noisy

We stayed here for a night. While we were greeted with pleasant staff and a beautiful lobby, we had to endure the worst night of our stay in Italy. As there was no air conditioning, we had to open the windows. However, as the hotel was near the airport, there was constant traffic movement, especially heavy vehicles, right outside. We did not manage even an hour's sleep!! Good service at the bar and the restaurant but the unbearable noise at night spoilt the stay.

a dirty and run down hotel, worse than a roadside motel

The hotel is in these conditions, broken doors, dirty bathroom, dirty and moldy towels, carpets and mattress. There are no electrical connectors except for the TV, broken and old furniture in the rooms, it is clear that the hotel has not been maintained for years.

Very poor breakfast buffet

Hard to believe that this is a Novotel. The breakfast buffet is really basic and breakfast area not appealing at all. Rooms are large but overall value for price is not there and there must be better options around.

Great reception staff BUT THE GRUMPY ONE

Nice room. Great staff. Except ONE grumpy lady at reception. She was impolite. Refused to do something basic give adequate information on public transportation from the area, which is basic as taxis in Florence are extorsionate. Uber was expelled!

We booked this hotel at the last minute due to an unfortunate “incident” with another hotel close by regarding our carbon fiber road bicycles not being allowed in the rooms. We were treated with respect and kindness at Novotel upon arriving, even working with us to check-in early after the abrupt check-out at the other location. The front desk staff was helpful throughout our stay, even helping us find good local restaurants close by, and a brief encounter with the owner’s (didn’t know it at the time) was pleasant and playful one afternoon after returning after a brisk bicycle ride. I highly recommend Novotel and plan to return soon. Thank you for making the rest of our stay in Tuscany a pleasant and memorable one.
