Not the best place to stay

This hotel was booked by our travel agent. Can not recommend it at all. What we didn't realise that accommodation was at a premium in Sydney at this time because of the Women's football world cup. Rooms were clean but very dated. Beds were comfortable but we had to move three times in our week long stay. Noisy air conditioning, and two times due to very noisy guests in neighbouring rooms, partying all night. The one thing going for this hotel is great location.

Fantastic check-in experience, rooms are everything you would expect with great views of the harbour. Bathrooms looking a little worse for wear but still adequate. location was perfect. Bar service was quick and prompt. We didn’t hear any noise from elevator or other guests and beds were comfy with a range of pillow options. Simple and clean accom - perfect for the price

I gave this hotel 3 stars based on its location and public areas however…. The rooms are extremely old, dated and generally tatty, they weren’t clean either, the shower has mould and screen door leaked. The location is good, right on the harbour with a train station across the road, unfortunately that side of the harbour is undergoing major renovation so if you pay for a harbour view what you get is a construction site view with the noise of heavy machinery. I would absolutely not stay here again as it’s not a cheap hotel ( I actually feel a little ripped off) and you can get far more for your money elsewhere and when trying to decide on rating it’s only the walk to the “good” side of the harbour which made me settle on 3 but really probably more a 2 Star stay at a 4 star price

Do not stay here. Mould all through the bathroom, bed was not made properly as my feet were touching the mattress when I got in. Yuck! Parking is ridiculous, no where near enough parking so when it’s full they make you go down the street and PAY for parking even when you pay for it with the booking. This isn’t even ibis budget I can’t even imagine how much worse it could get.

Tired, dirty, very disappointed.. We asked for two sachets of coffee, received plastic bag of multiples thrown in room.. shower taps dripping.. timber around base rotten, cockroach seen in bathroom.. Not worth nightly fee.. Receptionists, very dismissive.. will never stay at Ibis Hotel again..
