A Lovely relaxing stay

My husband and myself always enjoy our stay at this Novotel Hotel in Southampton, not only is it very convenient for local attractions and the New Forest but the rooms are spotless, the breakfast extremely tasty with plenty of choice and the staff so very helpful especially Brian and Colin who when we are at breakfast, look after us so well, always having a laugh and joke with us, whilst making sure everything we need is to hand. Thank you.

Despite the great location & good front of house service, the rooms need serious upgrading. The mini fridge didn't work, the bed side light had no bulb in it!, the pillows were diabolical (and not enough for the family room we had) and the separate toilet was grim, wallpaper / deco looked like it hadn't been updated since the early 1980's. The reception area and toilets downstairs had better attention but contrast this to the room we stayed in, was very disappointed considering the price we paid for the room and previous times I've stayed in other Novotel's (Greenwich) which offered a better experience.

The hotel is nice, clean and welcoming. The staff is lovely. We came with my assistance dog and everyone was very friendly and happy to help. At breakfast we were especially impressed with the staff members Alfie and Veronika. Both were friendly, kind, attentive and polite. Veronika was very professional, helpful and accommodating to us and my need to be accompanied by an assistance dog. Thank you both for a great stay and a pleasant start to the day.

Overall, our family thoroughly enjoyed our Easter break at Novotel Southampton. The rooms provided a cozy, comfortable, and spacious retreat, while the spa facilities, including the small yet useful swimming pool, gym, and sauna, were of a good standard. The breakfast served in the hotel exceeded our expectations, boasting excellent quality and a wide variety of options. The staff, led by Shirley, were professional and courteous, with her warm and cheerful hospitality adding a unique sparkle to the breakfast lounge, creating a delightful atmosphere to start the day. However, there was a recurring issue with the door key, necessitating activation at the reception after each use. We trust that the management will promptly address this inconvenience. Despite this minor hiccup, our stay was delightful, and we would definitely consider returning in the future.

Lovely experience during this stay. Very happy with the service provided and the staff are very friendly and respectful. The service provided at the restaurant was exceptional .The team tried to accommodate all our dietary requests for my family and special mention for Shirley who managed all this. Definitely one person could make a difference to our experience. Thanks Shirley. Ony ne feedback - the keys too the rooms is too sensitive we would need to come down to reception to make it work but otheriwse We'll done Novotel.
