John Mayer concert

We stayed two nights to be able to attend the John Mayer concert in the Accor Arena and in the meantime see a bit of Paris. The hotel accommodation is OK when only for attending a concert and sleep. When adding some nights to visit Paris I would certainly not recommend it. Small rooms, no airconditioning or not working, staff not very friendly, … breakfast basic but OK. Overall I would come back, but only 1 night to attend a concert in the Accor Arena.

It was exactly what we needed!

We stayed here for 1 night following a LONG day at Disneyland Paris as we were heading into the city the next day. It was 10 mins walk from Gare De Lyon (terminal for coming back from Disney) so super accessible. The staff were lovely & the BED! So comfortable which is exactly what we needed after being on our feet all day at the park. The extra pillow was needed for me, but amazing. I always want tea facilities in my hotel room, which this did not, but wasn’t that bad as they did have a bar. The breakfast the next day was average, unfortunately I cannot eat pastry so was quite limited on what I could eat (but I was in Paris so was expecting that on the menu!) Would book again if was simply coming to sleep and leave. Not necessarily for longer.

There must be better options for the price

Red alert!! We were on the 8th floor and all the odd numbered rooms overlooked Le Papa Cabane which is an outdoor club playing very loud dance music until 22.30 on Thursday and Friday and 23.30 on Saturday. Don't know if this is only over the summer but the glazing was poor and not enough to drown out the racket. It was so loud, we couldn't drown it out with the TV. We had no warning from the hotel when we booked and being a loyalty club member, we will be taking it up with the chain. Room was small with very little space for 2 adults to move around. Bathroom needed redoing as there was mould in the sealant and corners were very grubby. Small towels too. Good breakfast though. Everywhere seemed pricey this weekend so we didn't have much choice but there has to be better options than this for the price.

A chance to explore Bercy

While this location is not near the central Paris district it is only a short distance, even with luggage, to and from the Bercy train station without any stairs and thus perfect for coming for from Auxerre after a long day. It was also close to the Bastille / Nation area where we were meeting friends. Despite this being our main reason for staying here we found the Bercy district quite interesting. We visited the Parc de Bercy, Bercy village, Lake Daumesnil and part of the Bois de Vincennes nearby and found these a pleasant escape from the bustle of Paris. We hadn't made a pre-booking so I appreciated that they advertise their prices clearly and they were able to check us in. There are a number of bars and entertainment areas and the foyer is decorated with shelving and knick- knacks to give it a more interesting atmosphere. We took the option with the included breakfast and enjoyed the buffet with indoor and outdoor seating. The fresh orange juice was excellent. The room was fine though not particularly memorable. There was a small open hanging area with a three quarter mirror. It has a small rolling table that be used in bed. The prefabricated shower had good pressure and everything worked well. It would benefit from a small fridge but that is something we have found that the Ibis chain do not tend to have.

This is the worst place I’ve ever stayed at. I hated it as soon as I walked in the room but thankfully we had only booked one night. Tiny room and yes I know what to expect in Paris, this was my third trip. Bathrooms need to be ripped out, very old. Mould on the tiles around the bath. Toilet flush barely worked. Run for the hills if you have a room in the basement. Single beds that are so close together you might as well be in one bed. Horrible smell in the hallway that leads into the room. Mould on the tiles around bath. Lounge area had stains on all of the seats. Stay anywhere else but here. It wasn’t only our room that was horrible, I saw other doors open during morning clean. I will say on a positive note that the staff during breakfast worked very hard.
