Budget not 4 Star

Having stayed here before we were disappointed with the change. “Budget” is a more apt description than 4 star. Restaurant closed at weekend - not what we expected having stayed here previously and arriving tired from the journey. Horrendous area to find ‘eatery’. Tv non functioning which was sorted by a new remote at reception. No water in room - you go to reception - request an empty bottle / and fill your own. No hand towels in room. Toilet paper seems rationed - half a roll. Corridor on 4th floor stale stinky smell. Huge change in atmosphere since our last visit and we will be avoiding. Oh and you are ‘relieved’ of €100 deposit guarantee on your card although you have fully prepaid which will take a week to reinstate - anywhere else the card is guarantee.

My room on arrival was around 30 degrees. Immediately reported and told it would be sorted- it wasnt. Reported again late evening still nothing done. Sleep difficult. Next morning I was told by a manager that it was not possible to cool the room as the hotel was still set for heating (21 degrees outside!). Breakfast chaos- no cups, bowls or spoons and young staff incompetent. Hotel looks tired. Convenient for the two congress centres but not mush else

Nice and comfortable place - We had view on the lake. Very conveniently situated within a walking distance from conference center and within a short tramway ride to the city center - Tramway in front of the hotel. Good and rich breakfast with all what you need/want.

The Pullman Lac Bordeaux is not to be recommended and is not remotely worth 4 stars. I stayed there on a party organised for the Rugby World Cup by Gulliver’s Sport (who are an excellent firm and not held responsible for the defects in the room). The Hotel was understaffed and bar service could not cope. This is understandable; the room was inexcusable. The lavatory door would not shut: it was too big and needed planing down. The toilet flush only worked if you jiggled the lid backward and forward. There was no safe in the room (‘we removed it because it was defective and have not replaced it yet’). The service desk staff were sympathetic and forwarded my repeated request to speak with the manager. I was told that “she was in a meeting”. I suspect that she was digging a tunnel in an attempt to escape.

We recently stayed at this lovely hotel. It is situated about 30 minutes away from the city centre but a tram is right outside the door so problem with access. We had beautiful views of the lake and slept very well in this hotel. Pool area is nice if a little neglected, and hard to find. We never ate in the bar due to one reason. When we first arrived we were asked for €100 a night preauthorisation even though we had prepaid for the hotel in full, we had no notice about this and it wasn't in the email. We don't do credit cards (only debit) so this would have been a problem. However, to their credit they did not take the preauthorisation after going back and forth with them but made it clear we could not eat in the restaurant without a preauthorisation. PROs Air con Spacious rooms Views of lake Comfortable bed Nice furnishings Modern Tram stop to city outside door NEGATIVES Pool area could be cleaner looked after better Asking for €100 preauthorisation when we paid for the hotel upfront Not much in the area Overall very enjoyable nice stay.
