Excellent staff, beautiful hotel, great location. The stay were superb!! Top notch . They were always super polite, incredibly helpful. So worth staying here when you feel taken care of from the minute you enter the grounds.

Post Covid, you never know what you are going to get with service. However, at the Château Frontenac, service was impeccable and it was pre-Covid standards. We had to move dinner reservations, no problem. We were staying in a standard courtyard view, but we weren't looked down at as non-gold members. Room was spotless, beds were comfortable, bath products were lush. The only small gripe I had was why they had two employees in the gift shop, but they worked in tandem for each person checking out at the register, which made for a super slow process. When I asked the woman at the gift shop if I could use my spa credit for their bath products since the spa was booked during our stay, she gave me a long winded explanation about the high quality of the products and what they do for the skin rather than simply telling me I couldn't. It was just a weird vibe. All the dining experiences in the hotel were wonderful. Fresh, delicious food, kind service. People working there seem genuinely happy, which is infectious and puts you in the vacation mode. Nowadays in the service industry, a lot of people seem unhappy, and when you are spending your hard earned money on a vacation, you don't want to be made to feel like a burden. This does not happen at the Chateau. You have stepped back in time. Now all my friends want to go after seeing our pictures. This is the only place to stay in QC!

Wow! What an amazing place to stay! We have stayed at luxury and premier locations and don't understand why this place isn't #1 on TA. We were graciously allowed to check-in early which was nice perk. We stayed in room 1717 which is on Fairmont Gold room with access to Fairmont Gold Lounge which has wonderful views of the St. Lawrence River and the city itself. Our room was beautiful with views of the majestic St Lawrence river. Very comfortable room. We enjoyed going to the Fairmont Gold Lounge for breakfast, snacks/drinks and just having a nice quiet place to relax. Service and attention to detail were phenomenal in the lounge! First of all , Laurie and Laura were amazing, friendly and very helpful. For example Laurie shone as she helped us move around some dinner reservations and cancel one entirely as I wasn't feeling well and really she provided exemplary service. Our servers in lounge included Jeff Vincent and I believe Laura on some occasions and they all were attentive and provided top level service. We never experienced any problems and were very happy with our stay. We wish we could have stayed longer! Lastly I dont know why there are some really harsh negative reviews as we never experienced any disrespect, lack of customer service in fact all our interactions with this wonderful staff from bellman, front desk, restaurant staff, concierge to Fairmont gold staff were exemplary and the model of what a high level hotel should offer. The only thing I can think of is these individuals with the harsh reviews are unhappy individuals that are never content (also word to the wise look at number of reviews they have written as I usually only see 3-4 reviews and they are all bad meaning they take delight in bashing places). This is wonderful hotel and would stay here with no reservations again and look forward to our next visit and stay. We also did some tours that were offered through the hotel (there is a surcharge for this) that really gives you an idea of the history of this magnificent building which played key role in World War II (planning of Normandy invasion by Allies including visit by Churchill and FDR). We also did a city tour which is offered in conjunction with the tourism office (and is included in your "resort fee") Overall highly recommend! No reservations!
